Apply QXZ Code To Existing Reservation?

Hi everyone! I would really like to stay at AS Movies on my next trip but when I called yesterday it is not available under the QXZ code for my dates. It is, however, available via the fall promotion. I have heard of people being able to apply the code to their reservation, but has anyone been able to do it when the resort is not available for direct booking?

I would like to book All Star Movies with my Visa card using the fall promo online and then call CRO to have it made into a QXZ reservation.

If I understand you right, you want to book using the fall promotion code and change it to the free dining promotion? If so, each promotion has a certain number of rooms set aside for each promotion. Once they are gone, they are gone. Just because a room is available at the resort, it does not mean that a room is available at the resort with that promotion.

I don't know what happens if someone cancels a room that was booked with a special promotion. When I worked in (another) hotel reservations, our rooms booked with a discount reverted to rack rate once cancelled and put back into inventory. If Disney puts their rooms back in the pool with the promotional rooms, you still have a chance of getting a room if someone cancels.

That's what I thought, but I was wondering why people were making new reservations and then applying the code instead of just making the reservation with the code to begin with.

That's what I did a few weeks ago for ASMu. I booked online (using a different discount - the one before NYB) then called CRO and had it switched to QXZ. He gave me a hard time about not knowing the "code" for Visa cardholders. He was a hoot.

I just received my Disney Visa card and I updated to this code. I added a day (11/22) to fall in the free dinning window and saved $256.40. I went from 6 nights to 7 nights and from 7-day park hopper to 8-day park hopper. We are staying at CSR, DW, DD15, DD11 and SD.
