Apple Watch

My sister has one. She says she uses it a lot at work, as she has to make rounds through the hotel and can leave her phone on her desk while still receiving texts and notifications. She says she really doesn’t use it much for things outside of work that a regular watch couldn’t do just as well. I think it depends on what each individual person might use it for (health monitoring, fitness, communication, etc.)

I have never had a need for one, although I like watches in general. My favorite watch at the moment is my Goofy watch that runs counterclockwise. I had one of the originals that broke in an accident, and found a new one by chance last year. I haven’t ruled out an Apple Watch. I just prefer regular watches right now.

I have had an apple watch since the very first one so I obviously find it worth it.

Its great for golf yardage. And I do use a good bit to answer phone around house or when phone is not right on me.
Have to use more for other things. Would love someone to help me work health functinality better. I have it turned off because when I use golf app it turns that light on back of watch and it eats battery to fast.

I love mine. I like that it tracks my steps, love that when I’m driving with directions on and it’s time to turn it pulses on my wrist and also like that it tells me about an incoming call/text if I’ve stepped away from my phone.

I really enjoy my apple watch. I have the SE + cellular and love that I can go walking and not have to take anything but my keys. I use it all the time for replying to texts when I'm out and my phone isn't handy.

The primary reason I got it was so I could keep my phone in my purse when I am out in public. With my child having many medical issues, I have to keep my phone on me at all times. But previously, if I had it in my purse I wouldn't hear it. So then I kept my phone in my back pocket. Bu theft in my area is on a dramatic upswing and I worried that it would be easy to steal my phone from my back pocket. So I got the watch. So far, I like it.

Absolutely positively worth it. Love it. Balked at getting it as a gift where I didn't ask for it.
Now, can't live without it.

I like mine. I started working again after many years off, and it’s my connection to my phone while I’m working. I like the step tracker, my daughter likes the mindfulness app on it. It’s a lot of money, but I don’t regret it.

The Health and Watch Apps on your phone will walk you through on how to set it up for health monitoring etc. What light? Do you mean the face of the watch stays lit up? You can turn “always on” off as well as “wake on wrist raise” off in “Display and Brightness in Watch app on your phone.

Love mine. I first started thinking about one after a trip to Disneyland where I had to pull my phone in and out of my bag a bazillion times. I was a hardcore FitBit girl though and reluctant to get to know something new. My family bought me an Apple Watch for Christmas and I never looked back. Blows the FitBit out of the water as far as functionality for fitness and being able to text and make phone calls is the icing on the cake. People complain about battery life when compared to fitness trackers but they’re two different beasts. The Apple Watch does a ton more.

I never said I wanted one but my husband bought me one for Christmas last year. I only just this week wore it to track my steps while on vacation. I don’t really have a need for it otherwise since I seldom go anywhere. I personally would not have wasted the money on it but I can see where it would benefit others.

Love mine.

The kids got me one for Christmas a few years ago. This way I don’t miss a call or message from them. I used to miss a lot because I couldn’t hear my phone ring when in my purse. Now my watch vibrates. You do need data on your phone for this to happen Or near wifi.

Then I discovered the step , stand and movement rings. I close my rings everyday.

I like mine, not sure I *Love* it. But I'm obviously hooked enough that I asked for an upgrade last Christmas because my old one started not staying charged very well.

I think I use mine the most for paging and figuring out where I left my phone laying - haha! I do like that my text messages pop up on it.

Are they worth it?
Uhhh ..yeah! I use it to pay for everything possible -rarely pull the credit card(or cash for that matter) out of my pocket. For Disney …I have my AP and Disney gift card on there which is super convenient at festival booths, also can be used to open the door to your room. I use it for golf, quick weather updates, check on the stock market. For health, it can track your sleep habit, you can do an ECG, check blood-oxygen level, heart rate. I like to walk when I golf and some courses have fairly challenging terrain so I like to watch my heart rate -I tend to play better when it’s within a certain range. Apple is spending billions on tying the Watch to more complex healthcare options. It, or likely a more advanced version, will be a big part of everyone’s lives in another 25-years.

I say all the time my favorite part is having a timer on my wrist.

A couple years ago someone posted about breaking theirs at WDW and having to replace it when they got home. My first thought was that I would have headed straight to the Apple Store because it’s so integrated into my life.

Customer service is first rate. I cracked the crystal on a metal baby gate tripping over the dog and Apple had a new one couriered over bright and early the next morning. (I have Apple Care Plus)

Mine was a gift and I wasn’t sure I was going to like it, I think my exact words were why do I need a phone on my wrist?

Now I’m addicted.

I don’t have to carry my phone around my house but I dont miss calls or texts.
Timer available at all times.
Health app is addicting (and good for you! Close those circles!)
Apple Pay.
Not having to dig my phone out while I’m in a store, which was especially nice during early COVID when I didn’t want to touch it while out and about.

I don’t sleep with mine, but my husband does and I love that he uses it as an alarm so he no longer wakes me up! 😂

Okay, okay ….so I forgot about the timer on my wrist!! 😂
Yes! Me too. I set that when I am running the dryer and trying to get multiple loads done in a short period of time—that way I am switching over as soon as it’s done. I use the alarm when I am busy and need to leave home/work at a certain time for an appointment/pick up DD.

If you are already in the Apple ecosystem and want a watch probably. I like the Garmin ecosystem so that is where I stay but I also don't use my watch for notifications, just 24/7 tracking. If you aren't already in the apple ecosystem determine what it is you really want and don't concentrate on the hardware. The two best ecosystems for health and fitness data are Apple and Garmin but they will each have different features and options.
