Maybe, I'm too much of an apple fan and disney fan to make this conclusion, but the apple watch is supposed to a wearable device that allows users to use NFC to check in and out of hotels and make purchases. Does it sound like some other device that we are familiar with? Any coincidence they will have Mickey face version of the apple watch?

There certainly has been some corporate synergy between Apple and Disney over the years. However, the NFC tech planned for Apple Watch is different from RFID predominately used in the MagicBands.

Disney has said that Walt Disney World will support the Apple Pay payment tech later this year so there may already be some crossover between the technologies. But I wouldn't take it for granted that the 30,000 hotel room entry pads installed over the last couple of years will necessarily be compatible with Apple Watch anytime soon.

Well. I can definitely say kudos to disney for being ahead of the curve when it comes to utilizing and testing these technologies.
