We visited Disney World in Orlando, FL in mid-December 2013. We decided to treat our son and his family to a once-in-a-lifetime trip. My husband has Parkinson's and as a result walking for any distance is a problem. We decided to check on scooters to enable him to visit all the Disney parks and accompany our family to see all the attractions. I searched the DISNEY site for suggestions, and I found that going off-premises was the best bet. You can rent a scooter daily at the parks, but you had to return it before you left the park. As there is a fair amount of walking between the park, hotel and busses, renting a scooter for the week was the option we pursued. APPLE SCOOTER's options and policies were clearly stated on their website. They delivered to the resort the day we arrived (was ready and waiting) and picked it up the day we left. Insurance was included in the price. The scooter was in new condition and was very comfortable. We had one problem on our first full day at Magic Kingdom, and when we called, a service rep from APPLE SCOOTER arrived within 1/2 hour to resolve the problem. After that it was smooth sailing, and my husband enjoyed "scooting" around the parks along with our 8 1/2 yr old grandaughter. I found the staff to be really nice and they were able to answer my questions and recommend the best product for our stay. I would recommend APPLE SCOOTER if you have a need for good mobility around the parks. The price was better than the competitors. Having the APPLE SCOOTER certainly made for a better experience at Disney World for us!!!

I'm glad you had a good experience with Apple and enjoyed your vacation!

For future reference (and others who may be new here)... it is very unsafe and against policy (Apple rental policy as well as WDW policy) for a child to ride on an ECV with an adult. I'm surprised you weren't told that.

Again, glad you had a wonderful vacation!

I guess I took that differently because to me it sounded like they were able to spend the day together not that they were riding it together :confused3

Thanks for your note and concern; our grandaughter was not riding on the scooter with her "poppy"; I was trying to say that he could keep up with her and the rest of us as we travelled the parks because he could scoot along on his scooter. BUT, it is good to point this out lest there is any confusion for others! Have a great day!!! :)

My misunderstanding :flower3:
Glad your family had a great vacation!

I am so glad that you had a good report for Apple. We are renting a stroller from them at the end of April and were a little concerned with poor reviews we had read. Thanks for sharing!!!

We've used Apple our last several trips for my mom's ECV (including last May and then again in Dec) and have never had a problem with either their ECVs or their service. We'd highly recommend them and in fact are using them again in late March.

My friend rented a scooter from Apple for my mom's friend on the trip that my guy Dan, and I took with them last month. She lost the key to the scooter on the first day, and the Apple guy was happy to give her a replacement key without any cost when he made another trip to deliver scooters to the resort we were staying at, Old Key West.

I got to use the scooter some as well although I had brought my own manual wheelchair along. I used it during the times when my mom's friend was tired, and wanted to stay in the room while the rest of us went to the parks.
