My daughter really an itouch. Is the 8G version have limmitatins when it comes to application that you can use?

It really depends on how much "stuff" she has...photos, music, videos, apps. I personally feel she will be limited with 8, dh has 16 and is running out but he has lots of stuff.

I didn't see 16G. How much is that one?

I could be wrong, but I don't believe they make the 16G any longer. I too am looking at buying an Itouch. The choices are 8, 32, or 64G. I am leaning toward the 32G. Walmart.com has good prices on them right now. They are $170.54, $256.54, and $341.54 respectively.

I have Verizon Wireless and today they announced that they may be starting to carry the Iphone as soon as this summer. But I just upgraded my phone. So I will probably still buy the Touch.

No more 16 gig...I got DBF the 8 gig for Christmas. He loves it. Just make sure the apps she buys are not just for the IPhone, he's purchased a thing or two that he couldn't use because they were phone apps. :)

Yep. Basically anything that relies on GPS as a component to function properly will not work on an iPod Touch.

And for any Verizon folks considering in iPhone should it become available to them, rumor has it as of now that they might be available 4th quarter of 2010. They're just now (again, according to rumor) beginning to work on the required hardware changes to make it work on Verizon's CDMA network; the technology is completely different from that required to run on AT&T's network. I hope for your sake it does become available, and soon. I loooooooove my iPhone and am already giddy with anticipation about the release of the new one, if the rumored spec bumps do indeed happen. :hyper:

I have an 8g and while I wish I had a bigger one, it will work for small amounts. When I travel I only put on my fav music, and audio book (1g), movie (more than 1g) or two, and my apps. That's pretty much all that fits.

I may upgrade and give my mom my 8g as she doesn't need much at all so that I can get a 16g or 32g. It depends if I decide to get an iphone or not.

32 gig touch owner here. I only have a couple of Disney apps. The rest is music. You can put thousands of songs on this at 128kpbs. I have plenty of room for more on my touch.:earsboy:

I just got my iPod Touch (32 GB) for my birthday in Feb, and I'll tell you this. The 8GB, in many cases, is too small.

It's a good size if your daughter is just wanted the iPod Touch just for the sake of having it and getting apps, but if she wants to use it for music videos, audio, movies, or anything involving a considerable amount of space, she will run out of room faster than you may think. I myself have a few movies on mine, along with over 400 songs (still converting songs from my old nano to this one) and countless apps, and I STILL have 23 GBs of space. If she's going to use it as her main music/video source, then the 8GB isn't gonna cut it.

My mom told me, when she went looking for the iPod touch, and she had to choose between the 8 GB and the 32 GB, she knew right away that the 8GB wasn't much to work with, and it was well worth the extra $100 to get 24GB more space to work with. It's the best investment she's ever made when it comes to my birthday prezzies.
