Anyone have any good appetizer ideas for a small 6-8 person holiday get together?

The hostess will be serving mini egg rolls, meatballs and vegetable pizza. I make a seven layer dip to be served with tortilla chips, but was looking for something different. Oh and by the way, I'm not a very good cook so an easy recipe would help too! Thanks to anyone who can help!

I have no idea what they are really called but these are super easy.

Bag of Tositos Scoops
1/2 package of Pepper Jack Cheese, shredded (I just eyeball how much I use)
1 package a cream cheese, softened
1/2 can of corn niblets (you can use as much or a little as you like)

Mix cream cheese, pepper jack and corn together and fill the scoops with the mixture and bake at 350 for about 15 minutes (until mixture is melted and golden bubbly on top)

Shrimp cocktail. Buy a bag of frozen already cooked shrimp from Costco. Just thaw and serve. Can't get any easier than that, and people love it.

I do a dip made out of - browned # of Jimmy Dean pork sausage, 1 can Rotel, drained, 1 block cream cheese. Throw all in small crockpot, and stir to combine. Serve with Tostitos. Took to a party yesterday, first thing gone.

Skewers with cube cheese/meat on it, bleu cheese balls, olives stuffed with bleu cheese, deviled eggs.

Caprese skewers - fresh mozzarella cubes, cherry or grape tomatoes, and basil on a toothpick. Sprinkle some balsamic vinegar over the dish

We love hot pepper jelly. I have cranberry and cherry hot pepper jellies that I pour over goat cheese (or a brick of cream cheese) and serve with crackers.

Also, sliced apples and caramel sauce.

....wow, this sounds SOOOOO GOOD....I think I'm stealing this recipe! :thumbsup2

An easy one that we always make is a pound of ground beef and a pound of hot ground sausage plus a pound of Velveeta. Brown the beef and sausage, drain off the grease, then melt in the Velveeta. Take the mixture and spoon it onto party rye breads. They freeze well and only take 8-10 minutes (or so) to brown in the oven under a low broiler setting. :)

I've been making bacon wrapped dates. All you do is slice the bacon strips in 1/2 and wrap around a date. Drizzle balsamic vinegar over (i used fig infused) and bake at 350 for 15-20 min.

I also make a pizza dip the kids love.

1 block cream cheese
shredded moz cheese
pizza sauce

Mix together, top with more sauce and cheese and bake until bubbly. Serve with tortilla chips or crackers.

Baked Wontons are always impressive and very easy. Put a wonton wrapper in cupcake tins and bake for a few minutes. Can do a day or two ahead and keep in ziploc bag. Then fill with your favorite filling and reheat before serving.

We like sausage and cheese wontons. But you can do anything...buffalo chicken dip, spinach and mushroom dip, taco filling, etc.

Forgot...reuben dip on cocktail rye is also yummy. Corned beef, sauerkraut, thousand island dressing and cheese. Can keep it warm in a mini crockpot.

Order a Pumperknickel or Rye Round Bread from Panera. Cut out the center and dice up that part of the bread. Fill the center with a spinach dip and arrange all the cut pieces around the rest of the tray.

Buy a mini loaf of pre sliced rye (usually found in the front of the deli) each bread slice is maybe 2-3 " around. Spread pizza sauce and mozzarella on each slice and toast in oven for 5 min.

Chili con queso made with Rotelle.

Fruit tray or veggie tray that you can pre order at your grocery store

Deviled eggs

Cheese ball and crackers-pre ordered at the grocer.

Chicken wings ordered from the Chicken wing restaurant- we have a bunch of different chains here.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for all of the ideas! Now the hardest part, which one of your suggestions to pick! :goodvibes

These are always devoured at parties!

Mini Phyllo shells. Fill with crumbled gingerbread cookies, a chunk of brie cheese, and top with a bit of red pepper jelly. Heat in the oven until warmed through. SO GOOD!!

Another idea I saw on Pinterest was strips of red pepper filled with a fancy-looking dollop of hummus. Use a pastry bag as you would for frosting. They are so elegant and easy, and delicious. It's nice to have something light to offer.

I burned up pinterest with appetizer ideas last night. I don't have enough people for all of the amazing food I'm going to make!

Buffalo chicken dip is always a huge hit.

1 block cream cheese

1 cup of blue cheese dressing

1 cup Frank's red hot

1 small chcicken breast...boiled and shredded

Mix it all up and cook for about 40 minutes, Serve with Scoops

Another huge hit is Clam dip

1 can of minced clams with juice

1 sleeve of Ritz crackers crushed

1/2 small onion chopped

1/2 cup parmesan cheese(I use Locatelli pecorino romano)

garlic powder

parsley

oregano

1/2 stick of butter melted

Mix all together and bake for about 35 minutes. Serve with lemon and Ritz crackers

Baked Brie

Take a wheel of brie, place on puff pastry, smother the top of the cheese with seedless raspberry jelly, fold over the pastry to cover the cheese and jelly and bake till the pastry is golden brown. Serve with water crackers.

This is also a "brie" appetizer. Super easy!

Baked Brie with Apples and Cranberries.

This is the Little smokies (cocktail weiners) and pineapples - someone made these for our last book club - except they did add the cherries.

Little Smokies with Pineapple & Cherries

1 pound smoked sausage links, small (Little Smokies)
1 can pineapple chunks in juice
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 jar maraschino cherries,whole

Brown the sausages in a pan.

Add the juice from the pineapple and the brown sugar to the pan, basting the sausages in the juice and sugar.

Add the pineapple chunks to the pan, heat just enough to warm the pineapple.

On appetizer skewers, place one cherry, one piece of pineapple, and one sausage.

Serve warm.
