I am hoping that someone who is familiar with this area can give me some information about the area. We're thinking of purchasing a house in Florida and have a relative that lives there. We'd only be there for a few months in the year and would have someone to watch the house for us.
Mostly, I'm interested in the current cost of average homes, maybe something in a gated community. I'd also like to know what kind of activites are close by within 5 miles. Are there any good shopping malls or does someone have to go towards Tampa for that? Is insurance - home and flood -a problem as it is in other parts of Florida? Is the city more of a retirement area? I'd appreciate any info about the questions I asked or anything else that might help with a decision. Thanks for your help.
