APC at my PO - Hey ebay sellers!

My Post Office installed an Automated Postal Center that's open 24 hours! It's restricted to First class, Priority, Express and Parcel with a size limitation (to fit in the chute). Hopefully this means no more waiting in long lines - and I can avoid trying to make it to the post office before closing or taking time out over lunch break .

That's great! I haven't been selling much lately (too close to WDW) I'll have to check mine out too see if I got lucky too! I have spent WAY too many lunch breaks at the PO!

I work across the street from the 34th St. PO in NYC-- a very big, very busy PO. They've had one for a while, and they're great. But they seem to break down alot. So I end up in line anyway.

when they are working its a god sent. Mine seems to be malfunctioning alot and one time the scale was off and they sent the packages back to me back to me. I called and complained since I had used their scale to figure out the shipping and bought my automated stamp from them. my postal carrier told me alot of people had complained and he took my items back and shipped them without me having to pay more postage.

My Mom used to work at that PO!! We used to drive her there when I was a kid, it's HUUUGE!

I can't wait until my PO has that service. I'm at the POs in my area so much the clerks sigh and say "here she comes again!"

Hey just a quick thought ...

I try not to use these self check-outs, supermarkets, Walmart, PO, where ever.... because my husband pointed out to me that by using them, I am taking away someones job, whether Union or not, it comes out to a person's job. When I think of it that way... I just can't do it. It makes me too sad ... I know these are position a lot of elderly and disabled people have too.

I dunno, JMHO... we are getting so far away from human contact in this world, it is scary!!!!!! How will we develope people skills in the future ???

Oh and I saw a REAL, walking, talking ROBOT on the Regis Show last week .......... I WAS FREAKED !!!! Anyone else see that ? It was sooo real.

Save the jobs, think about it.
