I am going to WDW in Nov, with family, on a pkg deal that includes 6 day park hopper(plus water park) passes. Would I be able to apply any value from that pass toward the purchase of an annual pass? Or not--since it is part of a pkg including hotel,DDP, & passes. Thanks for any feedback. :-)

You will get the value of your ticket towards the AP upgrade. If you booked prior to the Feb 23, 2014 ticket increase, you would get the old value. But if you used your tickets first to enter a theme park, then the tickets would be raised to current gate value in a transaction called price-bridging. Current gate value of a 6-day ticket with PH & WPF&M is $400 + 26 tax = $426. If you want to get a regular Annual Pass, that cost is $634 + $41.21 tax = $675.21. Price difference you'll owe is $249.21. The AP start date will be the first day you used your 6-day tickets no matter which day (of the six days) you do the upgrade.

I did exactly this in February. I went with others, did the stay/play/dine package, so we had hotel, 5 day hoppers and dining plan all packaged together. I went to guest relations in a park to upgrade my ticket. I just had to pay the difference between the AP and the current gate price of the 5 day park hopper. Upon suggestion from a cast member, I waited until the last day of our trip, meaning my new AP started the day I got it, not the day I first used my ticket. That just means it will last 5 days longer. This of course wouldn't benefit you if you need the AP for dining, shopping and parking discounts during your stay.

Don't forget, you need to bring photo ID with you.

You got pixie dust! For Disney to give full credit for every day of your original ticket, the AP would start on the first day of the original ticket. You got 4 days worth of free tickets from that CM!

Yes.

That's not standard procedure.

If you use any of the water park plus options you will have to upgrade to a Premium AP which would be $803 or upgrade of $377.
