Hope someone will explain this to me. Ok, we have AP's that we got in June of 2004. If I am understanding correctly from most of you, we can turn them in at a guest services at WDW and tell them we want to upgrade them to PAP's for there remaining time. Because of what we paid last year versus the new DVC discounted cost of a PAP we could do this for nothing or get $5 back on each AP. Is that correct? Also, I noticed one person said if you upgrade to the PAP you must then renew it to be a PAP again. Is that correct? I could not find anywhere in the Disney info that it said you must renew a PAP to be a new PAP and not an AP. Anyway, if you go longer than 30 days before renewing you would be starting over again and then you could get the regular DVC discounted AP, but it would be nice to be able to renew a PAP to an AP if you wanted to.

Thanks to all who help answering these questions.

Hello fellow Charlotte girl!

Since no has answered your post, I'll try, although I've never done an upgrade myself. From what I've read, you should be fine, although at least one person was denied an upgrade recently (while others upgraded with no problem). My advice--if at first you don't succeed, try again somewhere else. Guest Services at DTD seem very knowledgeable.

I don't know for sure your renewal question, but this time (with the DVC discount) it doesn't necessarily pay to renew. The price difference between renewing and waiting to get a new one is minimal, and unless you are using the renewal right away, you might as well wait and extend the expiration date with a whole new pass.
