AP survey for DVC discount

I just helped to support our cause by stressing the importance of a DVC AP discount. Does anyone think they are listening?

They are not listening. Remember the parks and resorts must pay for Eisner's folly, ABC, ABC Family, etc.. There is around 12 billion in debt. They have DVCers right where they want them. Unless the majority of us don't set foot in the parks there will be no DVC AP discount.

I did the same thing in my AP survey. I stressed to them that they really need to think about giving DVC a discounted rate on APs, or allowing us to purchase at renewal rate without the renewed AP time period starting until the first day that it is used.

I doubt anything will come of it, but if enough people respond to their AP surveys suggesting something similar, then who knows.

Where is and how do you participate in the survey?

I received a letter in the mail giving me a website and password to enter in at the site. They say it's confidential, but how confidential can it be if you have a password assigned to you. I'm betting the passwords are tied to your name.

No biggie, just don't answer any of the personal info that they request such as salary.

You will have to wait for a notice to come to you in the mail.

Actually I said a lot more, not at all to be griping, but because they were very honest answers. We have decided not to renew for 1-2 years which I stated, because it is too expensive and we spend less and less time in the parks each trip. I also let them know I favor single park AP's,& Epcot after 4pm Ap's for non residents and let them know we do not renew at renewal time as it costs too much to have to wait 4-6 months till the next visit. They asked if we knew there was a discount for renewing before expiration and when I said yes they asked why we did not. Any math illiterate can see the reason why. No other theme park company makes you buy AP's to ALL their theme parks. You can get multi park Ap's but you can also get single park AP's.

Brian-I thought the same thing. Hello Disney, you gave me a pin #, you know who I am. I did not mind giving them personal info or income info. They may as well know what we can afford, but that it doesn't dictate our decision making.

Larry-I do think they are listening because never in 10 years have we received so many surveys with so many specific questions almost like they have passed these surveys around several times to tweak the questions. I was actually very impressed as each question actually led me down the path I had hoped it would lead to. Almost like they had heard most of it before. I actually was going to make a funny but obvious comment about Eisner and his salary but didn't. If anything maybe Eisner is behind some of this. He knows he has to make some really good positive changes or the next round he won't survive. There really does need to be some profound evolution within the company. Marketing, Marketing, Marketing! Give the people what they want.

Oh yeah, and they also asked for non-Disney, Disney web sites that I visit. I gave them several.

I completed the survey too and I guess I am gulity of doing the same thing. I stressed that with buying a annual pass I would be less likely to leave WDW to go to Universal for a day or two trip. I hope they understand if they give us a small discount on annual passes we will make up for it with purchases at the park. It seems to me a win-win situation. I wish Disney could see that.

I got the letter to renew my AP's today but agree with above posters about the cost being too high. We typically visit twice yearly but the AP's are so expensive; for a family of 4 it's a big chunk of money when the clock starts "ticking" right away. If the AP didn't activate until our next trip, I would probably have renewed all 4. As it stands I will renew one child AP so I can get room discounts. We often do cash nights to stretch our points.

There is a a lot to do in Orlando, even at Disney, that doesn't involve parks. They have to give me more incentive to shell out for AP's. Just because I have DVC doesn't mean I have thousands to blow on passes "automatically." Why did they change the policy and make the AP's start "ticking" on the anniversary date instead of on your next visit?

Thanks for posting what the survey was about! DD16 got the AP survey letter... when it asked her age on the 2nd question, she decided to be honest. Of course, it thanked her and ended right there. As a parent, I was happy she was honest... as a Disney nut, it was driving me crazy to not know what the survey was about!
