Hello Everyone,

I searched the postings but could not find any information on my question: I am a new annual pass holder and staying at a Disney resort with a room-only reservation, but I would like to take advantage of the "extra" extra magic hours. Do I need to bring my two magic bands (AP magic band and resort magic band) with me to the parks to gain entrance to extra magic hours? Also, I will want to charge back to the room, so will need the resort band for this correct? Any information would be greatly appreciated - it is my first stay as an AP holder and cannot find any information on this topic.

Does being an AP holder get you access to the extra extra magic hours events?? I thought those were all hard ticket only? If so, that means I need to recheck my figures, maybe an AP would be worth it for us after all.

No, but the OP is staying onsite and that gets them into Extra Magic Hours. These are different from the paid events they have starting having recently and the parties.

We are AP and it doesn’t matter what bands you use. They are the same since everything is stored on Disney servers. The bands are just a connection to that info. When you stay at a resort your AP is essentially just your tickets and AP discounts. You get everything that anyone staying at the resort on a room only reservation is entitled to. So extra magic hours is definitely included.

I think you are thinking of the Early Morning Magic hard ticket events that some times take place at MK and DHS, those are very different from the extra EMH and regular EMH which are free to anyone staying onsite. Just being AP doesn't get you in, but staying onsite does.

Thank you for the information!

I'm very familiar with how EMH works. They said "extra extra" which I have seen posted elsewhere on the boards referring to the ticketed early entry events. That's why I asked.

Sorry for the confusion, I should have specified the "extra" extra magic hours that are available to onsite guests through November 2, 2019.

Those are EMM (Early Morning Magic). EEMH (extra extra magic hours) are the additional extra magic hours that were added with the opening of Galaxy's Edge.

It's easy to get turned around with so many acronyms and "extra" this and "early morning" that. But FWIW, the phrase "Extra Extra Magic Hours" (or EEMH) is what Disney used to label the current Extra Magic Hours promotion going on from 8/29-11/2 which entails daily 6-9AM Extra Magic Hours at DHS and daily 7am-8am Extra Magic Hours at MK & DAK. So it's just the regular Extra Magic Hours benefit for eligible resort guests and Disney added the "Extra" to it given the number and frequency.

Thank you for clarifying! My next trip is not until January so I think my brain merged the SWGE event and the ticketed events. I was really hoping for a good reason to get APs this year. LOL
