AP Room only CL Discounts?

Has anyone seen any AP Room Only discounts on CL rooms? I was looking yesterday and couldn't find any available? I was playing around with dates in November. Just wondering if anyone lucked out and came across some?!

Yes, but in October. I have been lucky with AP discount on club level a few times. Using WDW booking online from the passholders section special offers, I do not check off the club/suite box -- it just seems to confuse the system if you do.

I select the Deluxe resort I am aiming for on my dates, and it'll show below if it also has CL on discount.

You do have to play with dates, because supply is very limited. Right now I have two back-to-back reservations in order to get AP on over half the trip. Other dates, no discount available. But even 5 days on CL AP disount is over $1000 savings. Crazy!

This is what I do as well.

We have BC CL reserved in November with the AP rate.

But, you are right, availability is WAY down now as a lot of people seemed to have booked a weekend night here and there, which cuts availability for your entire trip. I have been trying for weeks to switch to YC CL, but I cannot get it for the Saturday night during our stay, which is causing it to show no availability for the entire week.

From 10/03/11 - 12/24/11 WDW is offering Annual Pass discount of 35% off the rack rate and with that we reserved a Standard Club Level Room at the Boardwalk Inn from 12/08/11 - 12/22/11.

I managed to snag 8 nights at the BWI CL using the 40% AP rate the day they were announced, for November. Since then, out of interest I'd been looking at other resorts, and there's virtually nothing for my week, although it's possible to get the odd night.

Definitely slim pickings this year.

What is the best way to find out about any AP discount releases? I am planning to buy APs for the first time this year and hope to get in on a great rate. Should I just check Dis everyday or is there a better way to get the alert? I know rooms are limited so I want to jump on it if/when it happens. We're going in early Jan. 2012. Thanks!

The day the 40% AP rates came out we were only able to book a Garden Cottage at BWI with the rate (the cottages are CL). We were bummed because that was more than we were hoping to pay but less than the cost of the standard BWI Club Room we had booked at rack rate so we took it.

I checked every single day and the only CL that came up for our dates was at Contemporary and AKL. On 9/3, the day before the 40% AP rate expired, a Standard View CL room at the Beach Club opened up so we booked that and cancelled our BWI Cottage. I've been checking periodically since and hardly anything has come up at CL for our dates.

I forgot to mention that the Deluxe Club Level Rooms at the Boardwalk Inn were sold out for our dates this December with the Annual Pass discount, however that's not surprising since they only have 10 of those rooms in total and they are also sold out for our dates with the rack rate. Now just for fun I will keep checking but I doubt one will become available, however we are happy with their Standard Club Level Room and it's also a lot less per night.

I noticed it on the Dis I hadn't even considered purchasing an AP as I'm not returning for a long time after this trip, I thought if a GP discount came out I'd switch my rack rate to the GP discount but when the AP 40% came out, as time was ticking, I decided to go with that.

Thanks so much! I looked at the Mousesavers chart for discounts in the past. It looks like AP rates are released rather close to the travel dates. Last year AP rates for Jan. were released in Nov.
