AP renewal through MS question

I need to renew my AP that expired Aug 11th. I know I only have a 30 window to do this. Won't be at WDW until October so I'm going to have to renew over the phone through MS. We have always done our AP purchases & renewals at IG in Epcot. I usually use a park hopper ticket that I have previously purchased toward the purchase of the annual pass. Can I make this same kind of transaction over the phone with MS?

You can only use a ticket to upgrade to an ap (or renewal) on property. If you call member services, they will charge you the full renewal fee.

It may be better for you to purchase a brand new ap when you get to Disney in October. That way, you can upgrade the ticket you currently have and save some money.

You can renew an ap 60 days before expiration and 30 days after, for as many years as you wish.

We have had ap's since 2008. We renewed every year but one. It was better for us to purchase a new ap one year because of the dates of our scheduled trips that year.

Thank you for the reply and helpful information! Yes because of dates some years it does makes sense to get a new one we find this.
