AP Renewal Question

I just renewed my AP for the first time, did it online ("preferred" version), and looked like it worked (hit my credit card and all).

But I was surprised that the instruction was to just keep using the pass I have (the one with the expiration date of now).

Is that true? Just want to be prepared.

TIA!

the ap you have now, has not expired.
keep using it.

you renewed online so your ap will automatically be valid for one more year, up to the new expiration date...

:thumbsup2

I think even if you renew in person you keep the one you got now. I have only gotten a new one when mine gets ruined from to many water rides.;)

The water tends to make the pass fade after a while. Then the barcode stops working, can you tell we like water rides.:goodvibes

i have the older hard plastic ap, the one with your picture on it. ( like a credit card.)

i renew online each year.
very simple, as the new year kicks in automatically for my validity for the ap.

the ap's that are out now and the past 5 years, don't have the picture and is a different material.

it works the same way as bluer stated.

if your card wears out, it can be replaced.

Thanks very much!:goodvibes

Fascinating. Now the trick will be for me to remember it is still valid even though the expiration date on the back has passed.

I bought an AP the last time we went. I asked if I could laminate it and I was told I could as long as it wasn't "heat" lamination. I may try that before we go back next time. :goodvibes

I wish they still issued the hard cards as they did before.

you have been missed!!

oh, in keeping on topic i shall add, i prefer the older hard ap cards.

I wish we never let our original run out. Then when we renewed a few years back they handed me the paper card. They said no more photos.:sad1:

Then this past May we got new ones again since I let the old ones expire in December. I was praying they went back to photos.

Maybe we can suggest that they change back.:thumbsup2

The AP doesn't have an expiration printed on the pass. Disney's passes do but Universal's don't. Yes, you keep using the same pass. It changes it in the computer and so when you go through the turnstiles, it will have your new expiration date. You can get them reprinted if it starts to fade or tear.

Thank you...you are always so sweet!!

Now that the kids are grown and gone to college, we are spending more time at USO than WDW. I finally broke down and bought an AP...and using it as an excuse to go back more than once a year. ;)
