A few weeks back, I posted a question about needing to go to Guest Relations (and wait on that hellacious line) to get the physical AP when renewing over the phone. The CM at the time told me that the only reason we would need to get the actual, physical annual pass is if we needed it for discounts for food and shopping, parking, etc. For park entry, it wasn't needed, since the tickets were now on the magic bands. Between the boards and this CM, I got differing info. In case anyone else wanted to know, this is the reply I got in writing from Member Services:
Hello Kxyz,
Thank you for contacting Walt Disney World Ticketing.
While most of your Annual Pass benefits can be accessed through your MagicBand, we encourage guests to obtain their standard green Annual Pass RF card. The green RF card is used to validate certain Walt Disney World Annual PassHolder benefits such as complimentary parking and discounts on food and merchandise at select locations.
Should you have additional questions, please contact us again by replying to this message or calling 407-566-4985 option 5. Our office hours are 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. seven (7) days a week.
Sincerely,
Clement

Since we'll be testing this out next week, I'll post back and let you know if we actually got into the park without hitting up Guest Relations first!
