This is the text I saw tonight on the top of the "Resort Hotels" tab on the "offers for Passholders" page.

Great Deals for Passholder Getaways!
With rates this amazingly low, you can afford to take care of yourself and your family with a well-deserved Weekday Getaway at Walt Disney World® Resort. Visit between January 1 and March 31, 2009 for the opportunity to be inspired, entertained and refreshed. At these jaw-dropping prices, how can you stay away?

I got really excited (I want rates for 3/27 - 3/30). I clicked the show details link and the text changes to say stays between 1/1 and 2/12. I was a bit bummed. I guess I'll have to wait longer.

But hopefully this means that the AP rates for March will be released soon.

Cool! I don't see that on the site now, but since it was late at night, it could mean they are "working" on something. I hope so!! I would love to see the AP rates beyond 2/12 released a little earlier than last year's rates for this same time period. (Actually, the rates beyond the mid-Feb-08 period weren't released until Jan of this same year.) I have a trip planned that crosses over this break, and I'm hoping for early release of these discounts. . . .

. . . Of course, this means I'm there on Pres. Day weekend, which means I still may be out of luck for a rate lower than rack on the weekend. :(

I did still notice that the text was there this morning, but only on a certain page, all the other pages show the 2/12 date. So I hope it will be soon.

Hopefully you get a good rate evan over Pres Day weekend. That period wasn't blacked out with the 7 for 4 deal so hopefully there will be passholder rates as well.

Hoping the IT guys are preparing for the update!!! REALLY waiting for the end of feb thru beginning of March!!!

Hate to tell you this, but it's been like that for at least a week. I think it's just a typo.

We just booked a moderate and cancelled our value resort reservations for January because of the AP discount. I hope there ends up being a similar deal for Spring because that would save a ton of dough on our Spring Break trip (which is not paid off yet, ugh).

As a passholder myself, I wonder if we get the same deals as regular vacationers. I have heard of AP people booking the regular packages because of special offers, but only buying a one-day pass for the guests. If those deals are so sweet, then why are they not modified for Annual Passholders? Even if WDW knows that we will be vacationing there at least once a year, making us a "sure thing"... they should still make it as desirable to keep renewing our passes each year.

"Nicky_Mouse"... I love your Disboard name... it is what I have endearingly called my son since way before we could afford Disney trips.

I'm one of those AP holders who cancelled my AP-discount room-only booking for January and rebooked a 4/3 package with 1-day passes. We saved $380. Pretty hard to argue with that.

My guess is that the packages are a better deal than the AP discount--and that WDW intentionally wanted AP holders to switch to packages--because the Mouse needs the cash as quickly as possible. With the package booking, they get the entire cost of the package paid 45 days before arrival, whereas room-only bookings don't get paid in full until check-in.

This is just guesswork here, but with the economy the way it is, I'm sure Mickey wanted to have some more money in his account!

Bummer! I was hoping it meant that they were getting ready to release some new date. Oh well. It will come out soon enough.

Thanks! I was surprised that it was available when I signed up.

What a cute nickname for your son.

I was hoping they were going to release good passholder rates to encourage more people to buy APs. Because once you have one of those burning a whole in your pocket you can't help but plan another trip. So, give the good AP rates at the beginning of the year hoping it will drum up some repeat business and get people coming back to the parks.

I'm afraid you are right, but am sure hoping you are wrong. I went ahead and booked the 4/3 package for May (with a 1-day pass), but since I am traveling solo that trip, am hoping for an AP discount to beat it.
