AP rates - educate me, please!

Few questions!!

1. We like doing split stays. Will I be able to book both resorts we'll be staying at and be able to get an AP rate for BOTH?

2. Also... can you book only one room? Let's say I have a friend or relative traveling with us - could I book an AP room for myself, and another room for them?

3. Are there usually blackout dates for AP rates? Our future trips we're looking at holiday times - Thanksgiving, week before Easter, and 4th of July.

4. Are there AP rates for ALL resorts - Deluxe, Mods & Values? We love the Value resorts, so are hoping they are usually included.

5. How is the availability usually? I understand they'd only allot so many rooms at the AP rate. Is this something that when AP rates for dates I'm interested are released, that I need to jump on it within the first few days to be able to snag what I want?

Why not? As long as both are available with the AP rate.

One discounted room per adult AP, so no

Yes but only a few. THere are limited number of rooms with every discount. Just because a room is available at rack rate doesnt mean you can have the AP rate applied to it.

Yes

Not the first few days but as you get closer to the rate expiring your pickings will be slim

Hi, You will usually find a thread on this board for AP rates with dates. Right now there is one for those of us waiting for Summer AP rates. Just subscribe to the thread and wait for the updates!! Joan

Mousesavers.com also will have info on their website. If you have an AP you can check right on WDW website as well. Sometimes they will send and email sometimes, not.
