Not to feed anyone else's obesssion with checking and rechecking, because I understand the need to settle in and stop looking at some point to save sanity, but...I just wanted to report that I have been trying to convert some days of an upcoming trip to AP rate, but there has not been availability. Just this morning, up popped AP discounted rooms. Called. Modified. Saved a bunch of $$. And, had a really nice, smart CM to boot.:goodvibes

Good luck to all who may be in same situation!:thumbsup2

I just wanted to 2nd this. I've been watching an an AP rate also opened up for me this morning.

I called to modify and the CM said she couldn't find it. So I hung up and called back and the next CM found it no problem and applied it to my existing reservation, simple and quick.

That is great for you guys, right on!

I was encouraged to check myself but no luck still for 12/10-17 so still stuck with my FD (and no availability for a single FD room on 10th to add now that the dates were modified)

I talked to 3 CMs JIC (2 super friendly, 1 not so nor competent)... well, will keep looking for GP RO or AP next week, it'z-ah-comin'

I had the same luck too!. For weeks there was no availability at CR (AP rate or rack rate), then late last week rooms suddenly appeared in the system and this morning my TA was able to find CR rooms under the AP rate for my dates! So I switched my Poly reservation to CR and saved some money to stay at my dream resort! :cloud9:

OP...do these rates include dates after 10/1? Currently Fla resident rates are only good through then and I want the weekend of 10/14. Typically, our rates are published shortly after the AP rates are released. Thanks!
:cool2:

Definitely keep checking, everyone!

I booked a club level garden cottage suite at the Boardwalk when the AP rates first came out because it was the only club level available for our dates. I have been checking every day for something a bit less expensive and today it finally popped up! I just called and changed from the cottage suite to a Club Level Standard Room at the Beach Club and saved $300.

I am new-ish to this site. What does AP mean? I am booked for 12/17 to 12/25 with free dining at CSR, but would like to change to either WL or Boardwalk. How or will AP help me make that upgrade an affordable option?

Thanks

AP = Annual Pass
If you will be visiting more than once in a year's time, it can be cost effective for at least one family member to have one, you may want to look into getting one, there are other Perks and discounts available with the Annual Pass

Are they still booking this on the phone? Online, it said to book by Sept 4, and the offer won't come up today. I wouldn't be surprised if they extend it, but I don't see it yet.

I was shocked to go on the AP site today and see that the "current" offer already expired! I guess I didn't read the fine print earlier. I tried to call up some rates for someone else and the system said the offer has expired. So I read the offer and indeed it does state:
Passholders save up to 40% at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels when you book by September 4, 2011 for stays most nights October 3 - November 22, 2011 and November 26 - December 24, 2011.

Wow, I hadn't even noticed the "book by" date. So glad that I thought to check yesterday and got to change my reservation!

It's bizarre - the last AP offer expired on the last date the rate was valid! I wonder why they did the Sept. 4 deadline?

I was also really surprised. I don't recall the last time the booking period ended so far in advance of the reservation dates.
