I have no idea if this means anything, but I had booked a room only reservation via the Disney website for 4 days at the end of October. I put the deposit on my CC. I like to pay my trips off in advance, so I sent a check for the remainder. Disney called me and told me that they could not accept payment on a room only res made via the website. They said that I would have to pay the remaining balance at check-in. They returned the money I had sent. I didn't think that the website made this policy clear, so I sent an email suggesting that they make it more obvious on the website that no further payment would be allowed until check-in if you book that way.
Yesterday, I got a call from a very nice CM who offered to move my reservation over to their other system so that I can pay the balance in advance. While we were talking, she asked me if I needed tickets. I told her that we had APs. We are booked at ASMOs. She asked me if we had ever stayed there before. I told her that we hadn't, but since we just spent 2 weeks at CBR in June, that I didn't want to spend the money for another moderate since we were going to be there for such a short time. She told me that I should keep watching the Mickey Monitor because there just might be something coming up that would allow me to stay at a moderate for the price that I was paying for ASMOs. She said that she would keep an eye on my reservation as well. She was great!
Maybe this is a good sign of future AP discounts in the near future!
