AP Rate Question

I am hoping for an AP rate in Jan. for two rooms. One room is my family staying 5 nights, the 2nd room is my parents staying 10 nights. Since we plan to return to Disney in Oct., I thought I would get an AP.

My question is: Will my parents be able to keep their room at the AP rate even after we check out? In a similar situation three years ago, I got an AP rate for 2 rooms for 7 nights each (with only my family holding the APs) , then on the last day, my parents added two or three more nights, and they were given the AP rate, even though we were checking out. I don't know if they just got lucky, a not so savvy CM, or is it Disney policy to give the whole party the AP rate no mater how long each stays.

Does anyone know?

Thanks!

Disney no longer allows AP holders to book more than one room on one AP. Each room booked must have an adult AP holder staying in the room. They just made the change earlier this year, and there were a lot of posts from people upset about the change (either because they were accustomed to booking more than one room, or because they booked it on a child AP instead of an adult).

So in this case, you would be able to book your five days with an AP rate (if one is released) but not your parents room. One of them would have to get an AP if they wanted to book their room with the AP discount (again, if there is one).
