We have one day passes on our room key cards from our visit this past January. We already had MYW passes but wanted the dining plan so we had to buy at least one day passes. We have just bought into DVC and are planning to upgrade our one day passes on the room key card to an AP with the DVC discount. I know this can only be done at WDW. Now that the BRP is over with, will I be able to call for an AP rate without the actual AP or voucher? We have 2 nights that we want to stay at a resort other than DVC and I would like to get the AP rate if possible. If I need the voucher or AP in hand to get the rate, I might just buy one AP ahead of time and wait to upgrade the other tickets when we get there. Also, any idea if and when AP rates may be released for August? I tried doing a search for last year without success trying to find out.
TIA!

I think your best bet would be to call WDW and explain your situation. I should think you'd be able to book a room with the intent to buy a pass. I decided two days ago to add one night (at a different resort) to my stay this upcoming week.

Keep in mind, I was looking for a night at a deluxe for this thursday. I called the AP holder line, explained to the girl what I wanted to do and told her my first choice for a room (AKL S/V) and she got me an AP rate no problems.

I asked if she needed my AP # and she said no, just present that or the exchange voucher at checkin.
