AP Question

My DD has been invited by a friend to go to WDW for 2 weeks with them this summer. We have our trip planned 10 days this December. I would like to go ahead and get my DD the AP before her trip with her friend but not sure it can be done without me being present. Can I purchase the AP and have it mailed to me? If not what would be the best way to get the AP?

Is she old enough to have a photo ID? I know when my BIL went he just showed his ID (with our address) and I gave him my member # to show he was eligible. They would not actually mail the AP they would send a voucher and she would have to activate it at WDW.

If you have a Disney Store near you you could check with them to see what the procedure is to purchase the pass through the store. I'm not sure if they issue vouchers or if they can actually procure the pass. The one time I looked into it many years ago they said I would have to wait for it to be mailed to them which wasn't an option for me at that time. Otherwise I would call WDW Guest Relations and ask them what your options are.

FYI, I know our state's DMV will issue a state photo I.D. to anyone of any age. It looks like VA does, too

I have called and got both DD's AP (of course they had ID) and I was told to copy my license (address) and have them bring or copy the DVC card to bring. I prepaid it got a will call# and they picked it up a guest relations without a problem. Call and ask, they will be able to assist you, and getting her a photo state ID is a good idea. Good luck

You can definitely buy an AP with your DVC discount before her trip, but you will only get a voucher. The vouvher can then be exchanged for the AP when she gets to WDW.

I'd call Member Services and see what she'd need in order to exchange the voucher for the AP. As an adult, I needed my ID and my DVC member card. Maybe in your DD's case, a school ID and your DVC card?

Thanks all, I had not even thought of the state ID for her. I will call MS and see exactly what she will need.

I also need to get an AP for my DS for his senior trip next April, but I can always get that one this December.

A school ID should work well for picture ID. With DVC discount they like to see an address. They also request the DVC # too. Does she have a passport that would be great!
