AP pricing for August 26 to September 2?

I'm considering upgrading my existing park tickets to AP in a few weeks when we visit. I'd want to do this in the hopes of getting a discount on our hotel Aug 26 to Sept 2. Could someone please look up AP discounts for all star movies and art of animation? Also, are the AP hotel discounts rare or hard to get? Thanks!

Last year the AP discount for August 2016 was not released until June 20, 2016.

Yeah, the AP discounts are more targeted to Passholders, sitting at home with an AP burning a hole in their pocket, "look, here's a new discount, lets go, again!"

I'm not an expert on rebooking procedures. In the past, it's always been easy for us to change to a different promo. But I don't think it's "applying a discount", but a bit more of a "cancel and book new." So there needs to be rooms available in your resort/category to take advantage of a promo. You may not have much of a problem, I think that has been a fairly low demand week. (But isnt f&W starting then?)

If you book a room only, you can get an AP discount applied to your existing reservation as long as you are getting a Room only discount applied and as long as that resort and room type is available with the discount. You can change the room type or even the resort to get an AP discount on a different room if your room type or category is not available with the discount. However, you cannot change from a room only to a package unless you cancel and rebook.
