AP Price Increase?

Interesting that that specific post made sure to note that there was a very important word missing from their title (that word being "increase"). Could we possibly see a decrease??????? Honestly, I'd be happy if they allowed non-Florida residents to go on a payment plan for the AP.

Wonder if they are going to allow DVC AP payment plans?

I was wondering that too-if so I don't care about already buying the AP as I bought discounted gift cards to pay for them anyway-but if there is a cheaper deal on passes I will definitely be bummed

If you think about it, tomorrow is Oct. 1, the 45th anniversary, so it is highly unlikely they would make any announcement that would be considered negative. I would love it if they made the Silver Pass available to everyone. I would never go between Christmas and New Years or Spring Break because of the crowds and it is too dang hot in the summer.

So I bought our two AP's a couple weeks ago, but won't activate until Nov 12th. So would I benefit from that AP 20% discount still since I didn't activate it yet? Or not since I bought it earlier? If not, I'd be pretty upset with that and definitely complain, which I normally wouldn't do. I bought then, since we had decided to upgrade the 8 day passes we were gonna buy to AP's and it was time to for our 60 days, so we figured we'd might as well do it then instead of waiting. It would stink to get hit with an increase if one waited to buy or to buy and lose out on whatever new benefits there are. To me, it should kick in once you activate as that could be a year out after you buy for some people. Same question if it's some sort of other change, too. Hmm...

I forgot to mention, I noticed others mentioning a possible payment plan for AP's. When I called and got ours the other week, I was surprised when they asked if I wanted the 12 month payment plan! She said they divide in twelve equal payments that come out of your bank account, and you can use still use the AP during the year while you are still paying for it. I was pretty surprised, never heard of that before and now I'm doubting the person. Now, we ended up paying in full as I had saved up enough gift cards to pay and decided I'd better pay now while I had it, and I've received our cards we need to take in to get our actual AP's. But I've never heard of that sort of a payment plan before and with PP's saying it would be a good idea, that makes me think it not something already in place. Confused now, lol. Or maybe they were just doing tests with offering a payment plan maybe? Or maybe they've been doing it, I just didn't know and I misread the comments.

Disney has done a payment plan for Florida residents for years. There have always been rumors they would extend it beyond Florida's borders, but nothing has come of it.

Yeah but I'm not a Florida resident, I live in Illinois!

Me too-I had to buy mine in Aug in order to make our 60 day FP
I renewed a few weeks back so I could book FP+ for Wine and Dine and upgrade to Gold to get photopass hopefully the new discounts don't just go to new purchases

I'm ticked. We just purchased new AP's 2 weeks ago. I want that 13th month. :headache::mad:

Well - with our current plan - we aren't activating the AP until November 2017, and the 13th month really doesn't do anything for us - so if that is all I missed out on I am not all that upset.

I know that feeling. I was upset last yr, I was waiting for a DVC special and ended up with a price increase for the gold pass which has blackout dates. Of course if I had known.........

The blackout dates don't affect us so we went with Gold. As of when we bought them we probably wouldn't have planned another trip for next fall. But IF we had another month on them we would have probably planned another trip for late next Sept. or early Oct. Guess we'll be sticking to the original plan & drawing the line with whenever we go over the summer.
