AP magic band questions

For AP do we need a exchange certificate or only id, confirmation number?
How does the magic band process work?
Do you get new band only or card also? Does it function like normal magic band as hotel room key/park entry/charging privileges. As soon as you activate it does it automatically have all your MDE info on it (FP, dining etc?)
Do we get new magic band each trip or only one set for the year?
anything else we need to know as first time AP holders?

How does the magic band process work? You can link it on MDE or customer service can help you.
Do you get new band only or card also? If you already have a Magic Band you can link it but be sure to ask for a card because you will need proof of AP for discounts it doesn't show up when you scan the band at a register. Does it function like normal magic band as hotel room key/park entry/charging privileges. Yes, IF you have it linked in MDE. As soon as you activate it does it automatically have all your MDE info on it (FP, dining etc?) Yes, as long as you link the MB number to your MDE account.
Do we get new magic band each trip or only one set for the year? For now, each trip.
anything else we need to know as first time AP holders? Be sure to ask everywhere if there is an AP discount. You'll be surprised where it works.

We have been AP holders for 5 years.

You get one AP magic band for free each year when you start/renew your annual pass. Other than that you only get one every trip if you're staying on site.
