AP Hotel discounts

Can anyone tell me what kind of discounts I could get on Universal hotels if I bought an AP for our summer trip? We will be going in either late June or July, depending on my schedule. I would probably stay off site for most of our 10 day trip to save money, but was thinking of 2 nights in order to get the FOTL perk. Does it matter which AP you buy as far as the discount?

Does staying on site enable you to jump the line once per ride or as much as you want?

I am just trying to decide if it would be worth it to spend the extra on the hotel. The hotel I am looking at for the rest of our trip is less than $70/nt.

This thread will give you past historical information on rates at the Universal Hotels for 2009. By the looks of it, you are looking at around $140-$270/night depending on dates/hotel and what promo you can snag.

As for the FOTL, this thread will give you all the information you need.

Regarding APs, both the Preferred and Premier Pass offers up to 30% off room rates at each on-site hotel. The Power Pass does not offer any hotel discounts.
