How much did you have to pay for the 2 day passes for adults? I noticed on the official website the 2 day magic your way tickets, but the price with the non expiring option was much higher. Trying to figure out how much the tickets will cost because I won't be using them this trip and want to trade them in in the future for new AP's.

With the free dining we paid 332.00. It looks like the prices of the tickets went up today to 345.06. We paid the 332.00 because we are already booked. But we are doing the same thing, holding our tickets for next year to use them towards renewing annual passes.

I wish AP rates would come out soon so that I can price it out & see if maybe we will switch over to AP discount & add dining on without having to purchase the 2 day tickets:goodvibes

If you aren't going to use the 2 day passes, then you do not need to get the non-expiring option. The tickets will not expire until 14 days from FIRST USE. So no use, no expire.

You don't have to get the non expiring. If you don't use the tickets they won't be activated and you can use them the next trip. The only time you would need no expiration is when, say, you purchase a 7 day ticket and only use 3 and want to save 4 days for another trip. But, if you don't use them they are not active and won't expire until 14 days from first use.

Have fun!

The $332.00 was just for the 2 day base tickets. We did not purchase the non-expiring because we will not being using them util next year to upgrade. They will just be put aside:)

Glory49 - as an AP holder, you generally use the AP room-only discount and buy whichever dining package you'd like to use, correct? Do you find this to be the least expensive option overall?

I am considering an AP upgrade for our September visit. DH and I are staying at POP, then using vacation club points for Wyndham Bonnet Creek and Bay Lake Towers for the duration of our stay (points were given to us by family for use on this trip - my 62nd BD).

We OFTEN rent points at WBC and have stayed off-site, so I'm trying to justify the AP as it will give us free parking, some food discounts and TOUR discounts, as well as keeping the cost down for theme park visits. Though DH does not want to come back next year, my son DOES, so I may be returning in March/April with him.

Even if I used the AP only for the 8 days this Sept and 7-8 days next spring, would the cost off-set buying park passes? Thanks for you input.

2ofus - I would have to say that the AP would work in your favor. DH & myself visit Disney about 3 times a year & we always stay on property. We love to park hop also so it definetly works out great for us even if we only used it for the parks. I looked at the Disney site, AP would be $499 + tax each for the year. 8 day base tickets are 252 + tax = 268 each. 8 day tickets with park hopping 306 + tax = 325. So IF you are going the 2 times in a year & purchased the park tickets each time you went it naturally would be $650 for you. Being your DH is not going the 2 times I am guessing that you are only purchasing the AP for yourself. So if you are planning on going the 2 times for sure, are doing tours, parking & staying on property I say go for it:thumbsup2

But you have to do the math. Everyone is different & you have to figure what works best for you:).

Have a very Happy Birthday:flower3:

As a family of 4 where the kids are Disney Adults, free dining at a moderate resort, even with buying the 2 day MYW tickets was still cheaper than an AP discount and paying for food (not that I can find an AP discount at a moderate resort which is a whole other discussion). Not only is it less money for free dining, but I also have those 2 day tickets that I'll have for a future trip.
