AP Holders - Muppet Experiment

This happened to me before too. First I went was "selected" to do the experiment, so I went into it, but then had to leave and I closed out of it. Then when I tried going into it again, it didn't work and the Muppets showed up. So I think that if you close out of it, you have to sign up again. That's what I did.

But how do you sign up again? I've closed out of it and even shut my computer down but it doesn't give me anything to click on when i go back into it. Maybe i have to delete a cookie or something. Not sure it's worth all that effort, just thought it sounded kind of fun.

I was really surprised at how I "got" this hunt. Usually I have a really hard time with hunts and word puzzles and fun quizzes b/c I just can't understand where the people are coming from. So this was really surprised me!

Go in, listen and WATCH the song being played over and over. Check out what notes are being played. Write it down. :) I think I had to listen to and watch it about 20 times, slowly.

When you said to watch the notes and write it down, I finally understood what needed to be done.

Thank you everyone who helped me!!!:cool1:

I just went to the AP website or maybe you can click the link in the original post. Hopefully it'll work out.

to the guy who said find the piano on yahoo!! ooh my gosh i was so stumped on that. i had no clue so thanks a bunch. the miss piggy part was really fun and im glad i tried at it again.. lol

OT, sorry but I was looking at the discussion between Courtney & TheAXIOM and I know that the muppets are kind of in a slump lately and they are trying to push for them now, but the Jim Henson company have been THRIVING in the movie business. On a random day (I usually do this) I was on imdb.com checking on movie factoids because I LOOOVE to do that and I was looking to see if I could find any info on who was responsible for the amazing puppets used on Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (one of my faaaave movies) and the Jim Henson company was ALL over it and if you happen to look into movies where they use puppets, MOST LIKELY its them. How cool is that ?

That is cool.

Before all of this, for some reason one day at the library I checked out two Muppets episodes. They were funny! But WEIRD. One was with Carol Burnett and I can't remember the other guest/host.

And just today while trying to find the "end of the internetz" which for me is on tmz and perezhilton, I saw a picture of Brooke Shields and a daughter at FAO Schwartz, where they have a "muppet factory" that's like build a bear but with muppets!!!???!!! As they said, it's like bab but 100 times cooler, LOL.

We've just had fun finishing the DCA part (!!!) and are wondering what's next? There was a reference to something on the 17th - should we just sit tight? Don't post spoilers of course!
As it turns out, my cell phone had another text message saying I'd completed all the puzzles and giving further instructions. I didn't notice the message until the next day, and just today went over to DL during lunch to perform the last task. I was told by the CM that (a) I had to perform that last task the same day, and (b) that I would need the printed copy of my DCA puzzle page so they could check my answers. There was no indication in the cell phone messages that I'd have to do the last task the same day, and DW checked the printed page at home and verified the printed page had no such instruction either! Needless to say, this ticks me off. I don't know if it's possible to redo the puzzle at this point, so I may be left high-and-dry. I'm posting this as a warning to others - read all your messages to the end, and take note that the message with the final instruction may arrive at your cell phone at the same time as - or even seconds before - the last answer confirmation. Mainly, there's another task to complete before you leave DCA.

Do you have to have a print out of something from the DCA part? Because we will not have access to a printer while we are there next week -- heck, I am not even sure if I know how to text message! :rotfl2:

After you've successfully completed the online part there's a page of questions to answer that require a visit to DCA. You'll want to print that out ahead of your visit and bring it with you.

An interesting thing about text messaging - I discovered that my cell phone was configured to send a signature in a format that apparently confused the puzzle folks. I had never sent a text message to a numeric address before so had never encountered this. I figured this out by sending a message to Google and got an error message back. To see if you have the same problem send a message to Google: 466453, e.g. "zip code 92803", and see if you get a good answer or an error message. If you get an error message you need to check if you can configure whether your phone sends a signature - I disabled that "feature" on my phone and all was well.

A little closure - I sent one of the text message answers a second time and got a repeat of the "finished" message with the final instructions, and that was good enough, along with the printed puzzle sheet that the CM wanted to keep. I received a nice little memento for my trouble. Despite the glitches that sent me back to DCA twice it was a fun little event, and I hope they do more scavenger hunt kind of things like this in the future. :thumbsup2

well down to the last puzzle with sam and myself nor my husband can get it we have two but missing one it just won't take. any tips or clues? we leave tuesday.. aaarrghhh

So for the DCA part, when you text an answer, will they tell you if it's right or wrong? And I'm not sure how to send the answers. Would you put ex. #1. answer? Especially for the one q has multiple answers before the final answer, would you text all of them? I'm just so confused and don't wanna mess up.
I can't wait to go to DCA and do this (hopefully I'll get to go next weekend), especially knowing that there's a goody at the end. The last time I was at DCA, I believe I heard this guy saying something about the Muppets and had received a certain thing that I won't say, but I was like "Man, I want one of those, whatever it is." So I had to bustle my way into finally figuring out the puzzles.

If you are talking about the Sam the Eagle q, go online and type in Sam the Eagle and the year, and there should article for you to read. And don't forgt to read them carefully, I just kinda skimmed through them and it didn't help.

well we now have the answer lol. took a bit and we had it for a long time... well those who have done it know what i mean... really cool cannot wait to get there...
i can say we have already figured out part of the dca puzzle even before we get there..DH just had to begin the search lol.. he liked this game more than i did! at least this part doesn't seem as hard as the online part.. woo can't wait.

Yes, you get a reply either way. I sent a couple of incorrect answers for one of the questions so I know first hand. I just sent the answer for each question and they figured out which question it was an answer to, no need to specify which question or anything. For the question with multiple answers, note that they only want one letter from each answer, which forms a word at the bottom. Send that word.

I hope the memento isn't a disappointment - I wouldn't call it a collectors item. Just enjoy the hunt. :)

:lmao: :cool1: :flower3:

Thank you so much for your detailed reply -- I really appreciate it. I guess I am not as tech savvy as I would like to think I am . . . :lmao:

:confused3
I don't have texting on my cell.... by choice. Can I still play?
You could play the online portion, but the DCA portion does require text messaging. Maybe you can bring a friend who has text messaging. But the online part is fun by itself - give it a whirl!

Okay, 8 days after I applied for the experiment I finally got the first e-mail. Isn't that strange? Everyone else got it within a day or so. I had given up and I thought I wouldn't be able to join in on the muppet fun but there was the e-mail in my inbox today!

Hmmmm....now I just have to find time to do it. Well, i know if I get stuck there are lots of people who can help me. :goodvibes

Woohoo!

wikipedia truly is your friend, as is google. and from anything you google, when you get to a helpful site, be sure to scroll down and find other helpful information. that's so mysterious.

So I did the DCA part last Monday, and it was fun! Some of it was hard, but luckily I had my helpful FOUR year old with me and he knew what I didn't. :cool2: :goodvibes Seriously, he did. And he gave me the answers with SUCH a look on his face, like "dude, seriously? you really don't know this? whatev'".

And then when I went to get my prize, the CM I got was soooooo in character! Oh he was such a Drama-class dude. :)

Can't wait until the 17th when we can be less circumspect.
