Hi. We're planning a May trip. It will be myself, DD7, and my best friend. We will all be staying in one room in a value resort. I want to get the DDP, but it says everyone in the room has to have the same package?!? My best friend doesn't need park tickets b/c she has this pass good for all the parks through 2010. She would rather buy food OOP b/c she's a really light eater and won't eat $40 a day. She just needs to be on the room portion of the ressie so she can enjoy EMH with us, etc. Is it possible for only my DD and myself to get tickets and DDP? And my best friend just the room?

Nope, Disney requires every guest on the reservation to have the same package. Your friend would either have to get her own room or get the dining plan including a one day ticket (you would also need a one day ticket and upgrade after you arrive to add the extra days you need).

Are the tickets in a particular person's name? If we all got the one day ticket, could I use hers and she just use her pass? We are only visiting the parks for 2 days. grrrr...this is so frustrating. What i'm trying to say is...
With the one day tickets, we all have one, she gives hers to me, now i have 2 one day tickets (what i need) I would only have to purchase a one day ticket once there for my DD. Right? Or would they know that one ticket was intended for her, and wouldn't let me use it?

Right. The tickets you get with your package will have names on them (they'll be coded onto your room key) but you can use yours one day and hers the other day.

Okay. I'm still just a smidge confused. If they have our names on them, won't they just stop me from using her ticket? won't they ask for ID?

Not likely. I mean, they can - but that's usually just if there's a problem with the finger-scan. But at any rate, you will have a not-yet-used ticket, and another not-yet-used ticket. You should not have a problem.

Thank you!!!!!!!!
:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

That works out great!! She probably could stand to gain a few pounds anyway. With the DDP, she'll feel obligated to eat more than just the Dole Whips and Mickey Rice Krispy Treats she intended. :rotfl2:

another option is that in addition to using your friend's ticket, you could also use her dining credits...

just curious... where/how does one get a pass that's good for 2+ years?! i've never heard of such a pass but certainly would love to have one! :)

I just got off the phone with her and she said it's not really an AP or seasonal pass. It's a comp card. In 2003, a friend of hers was like the head chef at one of Disney's restaurants (have no clue which, they no longer KIT). And he gave it to her. It has her name on it. She has to take it to guest services each time she goes. They swipe it and give her a ticket for the day. She hasn't been back since 2003 (she said she never had anybody to go with) but she said that was how they used it back then.
