AP gets 25% off premier hotel price?

If a lower AP rate comes out and is less than my current AP booking, is it advised to change the booking online myself or call in? If myself, can I modify it or do I need to book that rate then cancel my previous reservation?
I have never been able to modify and have always ended up rebooking, then cancelling the first reservation. The refund always comes through within a day or two.

I only have 1 night booked, Oct 3, but rates change frequently as some rooms come up new and some disappear. I check every day. They can be modified online, but if you are keeping everything the same - dates and room type and number of people - it doesn't work. I commented in another thread that I have added a ficticious child to my room and been allowed to modify. You could also book the discount you see online and then cancel your original booking online.

Thanks! I figured that was the case. It was kind of a last minute decision to book over fall break and I think all the AP rooms were taken. I'm just happy to have gotten a Premier hotel reservation for that time! They were booked quickly.
It doesn't hurt to keep checking. You are going at a busy time though.

When I find a better rate, I just book a new reservation then cancel the old one afterwards. I think you might be able to modify it, but I'm always afraid I'll mess something up online.

So, am I to assume that if there are not any Premier AP rooms available for our trip in October there won't be anymore released? I have a room booked already. How would I go about seeing if it qualifies for an AP rate at some point?
What nights?

I'm seeing some good Portofino Bay rates for a few weeks in October, but typically only Sunday to Friday. Weekends are tough.

Right now we have Royal Pacific from 10/19-10/22. I will definitely keep checking the other hotels! We check into Cabana Bay 10/22 for the weekend because we couldn't get a premier reservation.

I'll keep checking. Weekends at a Deluxe are going to be tough.

I've been watching for a few weeks and rates are bouncing around all over the place. For the dates I'm going, I have HRH for $224 (pool view), but I've seen it as low as $209 (standard view) all the way up to $409.

I've see PB as low as $214 but it's currently $474!

Thanks! We don't mind a split stay. I would love to get a lower rate for the Premier Hotel though....lol. Our non AP rate for our standard RP room is $389.

If you can do Sunday to Wednesday (Oct 17-20), PB is $244 per night.

If you have to get multiple rooms, you need a passholder for each room, so you may have to get an AP for 2 people. A passholder can only book 1 room.
I've booked two rooms with my AP before
