AP Free Dining Question

I was thinking of upgrading my 10 day MYW ticket from our upcoming 8/23-9/2/14 trip to AP's so we can return in December. My current package includes free dining, if I upgrade the tickets will I lose the free dining?? Should I wait to the last day to do it??

Free dining is not the problem. Its your FP+ that may be in jeopardy. For that reason I would wait till the end of your trip to upgrade. The system has lost a lot of FP+ when people make a simple change to their MDE accounts. Keep in mind though that you must do the upgrade with at least 1 day left on the ticket. You can't upgrade once it is used up.

I would just wait until you get to Disney to do the upgrade. I cannot stress this part enough, make sure you upgrade at guest relations at the park or downtown disney - the guest relations at the resorts don't always get it right when upgrading!

It shouldn't mess up your FP or anything else, it will just show up on your MDE page as annual pass where you previously had the 10 day tickets. We did the same thing on our last trip and everything else, FP and reservations, were unharmed.

One benefit of doing it the first day there would be to be able to start using your 10% discount that you get off merchandise and other special ticket events like tours, etc. Obviously you won't need the dining discount since you are on the free dining plan.

We upgraded our 10 day tickets to AP's last summer on MB's with free dining when the system was still very new.

Actually, what we did was upgrade one of our passes at guest services after entering the park so we could take advantage of shopping discounts and see if the dining credits stuck. Then, later in the trip, we upgraded the rest of the tickets. We didn't lose any credits or have any fp's messed up by doing this.

I have free dining because I booked a bounceback before we checked out last August.
