AP/Disney Club rates for next year.

We are planning on buying APs next year, and I've just joined the Disney Club, so one way or another we should get a discount on our rooms.

Any idea how early the discounts come out? Should I go ahead and book a room now, and then wait for the discounts? The trouble is, that if there is no discounts then we can probably only afford All Star, but if there are good discounts then we could consider a moderate, or even a couple of nights at the Boardwalk which I really fancy.

What about the gov. discounts for the Swan/Dolphin, do you have to wait for those? I tried to request it on their website, but it says no availablity for that discount - do you think they will appear later?

According to the Mousesavers site AP discounts are announced between 2 and 6 months in advance.

I have booked at POR through Dreams Unlimited. They check the discount availablilty and apply them to your booking as soon as they come out. So you can book early to get the resort you want and still take advantage of discount that appear nearer to your departure date.

Bev, we normally book a room at the regular rate to make sure that we have accommodation to match our flights. After that we keep on checking for any discounted rates we are eligible for, and change our booking accordingly. If you make a booking at the All Stars and then get a great rate at the Boardwalk, you can easily cancel your AS booking and reserve a room at the Boardwalk.

I'd also recommend using Dreams Unlimited to book your accommodation. We did for our trip this year, and it worked out fine for us. Our agent at DU was happy to change our reservation four times and she made sure that we took advantage of the best discounts available. There is no cost to using DU. Although they only have access to discounted rates which are generally availble (eg AP, DC, code rates, etc), it does save on the cost of several trans-atlantic phone calls to CRO.
