AP Discounts

I would like to try to get an AP Discount on our room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge for our May trip. My question is: How do you find out when the discount will be offered? Are they posted on the *official* Disney website? How far in advance can you find out the date they will be offered? I'm new to these boards, but have already gotten tons of valuable planning advice, so thanks in advance for your help!

Hi there! There may be a better way. Go over to the resorts board and look at the post by Mikamouse titled, Just snagged an upsell for AKL! Lots of people have been getting AKL for May for less than an AP rate. If you read through the whole post, it will give you an idea how to go about getting this great deal for yourself! This is a difficult question to answer. Annual Pass Holder discounts are usually released for certain time periods. The current period (1/1/01 - 2/14/01) was released in late November or early December. I suspect (I also hope!) the next round of discounts will be released within the next couple of weeks, but CRO isn't budging on releasing any information on whether these discounts are pending. You can bet that once someone knows that the discounts are pending or that they have been released, the information will be posted here. I ask about these discounts every day, and believe me, I will share that information once I find out anything!!

Thanks for all the helpful advice! Unfortunately, I checked out the upsell and it won't work for us. Since we are a family of 5 we had to book a deluxe Savannah room and they aren't included. We considered getting 2 Savannah rooms but would really rather stay together, so will just wait and hope for the best.
I did see the post from Mika on the resort board that AP discounts for the AKL are coming out soon. Kaa, I'll be watching for your post. Thanks again!
