AP Discounts?

Can we get the AP discount for our room if we buy the AP when we arrive or would we have to have indicated this when we made our reservation?

You would have to make the reservation with your AP to get the AP discount. Booking AP room rates are only for a period of time like packages. Plus they are limited number of rooms avail as well.

If there are AP rates available for your dates, you can book them, and then buy the AP afterward. You do have to indicate that you want the AP rate when you make the reservation. They tell you to bring your activated AP with you when you check in, but you do not need to have it when you book the room at the AP discount.
