Hi,

My girlfriend and me are going to spend our honeymoon in WDW the next October (for 10 nights).

I've heard that it can be interesant for us buy an AP and we can benefit with AP resort room's discounts, is it true?

If it was true our intention will be: 7 nights in POFQ, 3 nights in GF, add DDP for all our staying (10 nights), an AP and 10 days ticket (for the non-AP person), is it ok?.

How can i chek these discounts? In the WDW web page i've seen i need the AP code number, but in this moment i haven't still bought the referred AP, can i phone to WDW and they inform me about these discounts for the next October?

Can i add Dining Plan in this case?

Thanks and i will appreciate any advice more (sorry for my English, but I am Spanish).

If you use AP codes, I don't think you can add the DDP. Because AP holders already have tickets, the codes are only for room only reservations, and without a package or DVC, you can't use DDP. Figure it out though-- it still may be worth it for you to go with an AP. And with 10 days, it may be worth it to buy 2 APs for the both of you (I haven't done the math with the new ticket prices, but I think with the old ticket prices, the break even was 7 days). So, the ticket savings and room savings may more than pay for your food, and no need for DDP.

If you buy an AP, you can check on the website. Otherwise, watch this board and mousesavers for the codes when they come out. You can actually wait until the codes come out, book them, and then decide whether it is worthwhile for you to actually use the AP or not (if you don't have an AP at checkin, you will be charged rack rate).

And, I thought your english was very good (better than some english-speaking people I know :-))!

Thank you very much Disneygirl!!!

I don't understand what is an AP code, can anyone explain me?

I can't understad why we have to buy 2 AP, i have understanted that it is enough 1 AP for making the room resorts booking, isn't it?

How can i see the rates with AP? I've seen in mousesavers.com some kind of AP codes (EZA, BKE,...) but i don't know how i have to use these codes in WDW web page reservations. Can anyone explain me that??

An AP is an Annual Pass, and would basically let you in the parks for an entire year. You will have to buy two passes, one for yourself, and one for your girlfriend. To get the discounts offered for holders of an annual pass, you only need one. However, it may be cheaper if both of you buy an annual pass, instead of just buying regular magic-your-way passes.

If you are making reservations online, you won't be able to use the AP codes, but those codes you are seeing on mousesavers are the AP codes. To book online with the AP rate, you must have your annual pass now. Since you don't have it yet, you can book the AP rates by calling 1-407-w-disney, or 1-800-828-0228. Then, you can talk to one of the cast members, and they can help you plan your trip!

If you call, the rates for October are not out yet, so you won't be able to get an AP rate yet. (rates are only out until April 8). You can however, book at the regular room rate, and later apply an AP code to your reservation when they come out for your dates.

Does that make sense???

Thanks Disneygirl, i think all is very very clear (i'm sorry if i've bothered you)

But i thik an Theme Park Annual Pass (AP) costs 415$ and a regular 10 days magic-your-way pass (hopper option plus water park option) only cost 300$. Due to this reason i've said that perhaps it will be better buy 1 AP and 1 magic-your-way-pass. Is it right?

Anyway, i can book now my WDW Package with Dining Plan and when the AP codes will come out (for October approximately when will the codes come out??) change my reservation and book the resorts staying with AP code and 1 or 2 AP, right?

Is there any possibility to know the AP room rates (for instance for march staying) so I can check these with the regular room rate??

You can look at historical AP rates, but there is never a guarantee that AP rates will come out, or how many will come out.

My rule of thumb is book what you can afford, and if a rate comes out great, if not, you won't have to alter your plans.

Here is a list of what the current AP rates are :

I think mousesavers also has a historical comparision chart.

Don't forget, in your planning...if you want the DDP, you must buy the package. And everyone in the room has to buy the package. So, if you are planning on buying a package for just one of you, and then having the other person buy an AP for a room discount, it isn't going to work. It's an either/or situation. Either both of you have to book a MYW package, with the DDP added, or you can buy an AP and book your room with an AP discount (if one comes out for your time frame) and your wife (then) would have regular park passes. And no DDP at all, since there wouldn't be a package for both of you. Hope this is clear....I sometimes ramble.

Something else of interest if you do end up going with the annual pass is the Disney Dining Experience. You pay a one time fee and it give you a 20% discount on all your meals at quite a few restaurants. It is not a pay one price thing like the Disney Dining Plan but it does pay for itself in discounts if you stay for a while like you will be. Here is the link to the Dis Info on it. http://www.wdwinfo.com/disneydiningexperience.htm
