AP Discount

Ok so here's what happened to me:

I have a previous GP reservation for POFQ Garden View 11/13-11/20. I call to have the AP discount applied (25%) and while on hold, I look online.. nothing's available for GV so I don't think I'll get anything. Lady on the phone says no discount for FQ, just Riverside which would be more expensive.

I get off the phone with her and go back online.. now GV rooms are showing a discount.. I go through the motions to book a new room and it's $30 more even though the discount was 5% more? I look at the individual rooms rates and GP was 148.80 weekday /160 weekend, AP was 139.50 weekday / 201 weekend. For some reason the weekend rate is not discounted as much? Full price is 216 so it's discounted like 7%? I don't know why it's showing this?

How is is that the AP rate of 35% off is $500 MORE than my current 30% off GP offer?

The room category they have available online is $150$ more per night. Ugh.

I'm just calling.

It must be what I'm seeing? WeekEND rates are not being discounted the full amount?

UGH. CM is arguing with me that AP Discounts are not out and not available.

Of course, the passholder page has frozen me out, so I can't even see the darn thing to tell her the dates.

Interesting. My TA said it appears based on pricing that FQ is not included, but CSR and CBR come up with 25%off. She said POR is a 5% discount which is the same as the nominal GP discount offered now for our dates.

The only thing available for my dates (according to CM) is a 2 bedroom club level suite, even though it shows availability in the same room category I booked online, when I was able to check earlier.

I don't think so, Disney.

Yep same thing is happening here are the dates in case you need it

This fall, save up to 35% on stays at select Disney Resort hotels, valid most nights September 27 to November 22, 2013 and November 30 to
December 24, 2013.*

Also for CR BLT BC BCV the discount is only 25% not 35%
The last CM I had said that AP rooms were probably gone since midnight EST when the website was updated.

The CM I got said the AP discount would cost me more than my current GP discount. I was driving so I couldn't look up on the computer. I am betting it is the weekend thing that made the difference.

Online I can see that a few nights have a discount. Can they apply that to my existing reservation or would I need separate reservation numbers?

DH just got off the phone with Disney. No AP discounts at Pop or AoA for the first week of December. Man, I was really banking on that since there haven't been any military discounts available. This is becoming kind of ridiculous.

WoW! I haven't seen such low availability and poor discounts for AP's EVER!!!

WE didn't get anything for our dates in November! I tried any MK resort and got next to nothing (except stuff like GF one bedroom for $1200 per night!!!!!!!! Ack! THAT'S a DISCOUNT!?!!??

WE are staying with our GP RO's. Thank goodness that we have those, at least!

I was able to switch my Standard view AKL to Pool View/bunk beds for 10/18-10/22 for about $20 more. There was no availability on StV and we wanted bunk beds anyway so that works for us.

It definitely looked like the weekends were not discounted at all (or very little!) for some resorts. It was going to let me book a GV room at the Poly but it was showing at $511 per night for the Friday and Saturday evenings and then $289 for the Sunday and Monday. The latter rate is great and I would have jumped on it, but there is no way in heck I would pay $511 for a GV room at the Poly.

I hope you all are sitting down when I tell you about the discount *I* got - for our 4 nights in mid November I got an extra $25 off! not exactly a 'wow' but I'll take it.

Had to change from AS Movies (that only had preferred rooms that would have actually cost us more) to AS Music (where we usually stay but it would have been nice to do Movies for a change - oh well).

The whole trip is a surprise for DD - we're doing the MouseAdventure World Explorer V event. DH and I are too excited - DD is going to flip. So it doesn't really matter where we stay but a bigger discount would have been really nice. Guess I've been spoiled by AP discounts in the past.

Oh the humanity.... After waiting months to get the little extra off my room ( I presently have 10% AAA), I got up and called this morning, to find my 20% of AP would be $100 more! What? We are going Oct 31 - Nov 10 and got blacked out. Curse you Jersey Week Oh Well, back to the coupon clipping and better luck to y'all

This sounds like my experience with the GP discount. On August first at 6AM not one moderate hotel had availability for the room only discount during our week, 19/11 - 10/18. Why advertise states that have ZERO availability?!?! Super disappointing as we were waiting for the AP discount from my inlaws with fingers/toes crossed to get nothing.

We are staying Nov 30th - December 11. First night at POP, then Poly for 4 nights and BC for 6. Called this morning. We were able to save $8 on our POP stay, nothing else available. So glad that Disney values the loyal customers!

Soooo dissapointed right now, unbelievable that POFQ is now more expensive with an AP discount . We are moving our res to POP, we just don't feel like giving the mouse more $$$

Besides these discounts being poor, my bigger concern is the weekend rates.

I was playing around with October dates for YC as we may go next year, and the weekend rates didn't drop at all! After discount twice as much as weekday rates. And these aren't known blackout dates or holidays...I hope that doesn't continue..

So sorry for everyone who is having issues, I was able to call and get the AP discount for our dates in November (35% off BWI CL). It allowed us to upgrade to CL!

Looks like this would save me about $140 on my week at Pop. I booked a package with a 1-day ticket and DDP using the GP RO discount, and a pretty good portion of the savings switching to a passholder package would just be taking off that ticket.

I don't think it's worth changing a package reservation at 42 days out for that. Plus I don't really want it to mess up all the FP+ and MB tinkering I've done...
