Hi, we're in the process of buying a DVC contract. We should hear if we pass ROFR while we're actually on vacation at Disneyworld. I want to buy discounted APs, obviously I won't have my member # until after we get back. Can I purchase no expiration tickets, leave a days worth of use on them, and then use them to upgrade to an AP with the DVC discount after getting my #?

Do I need to do that within 14 days of first use? Is it even possible? Thanks!

Tickets have to be upgraded within 14 days of first use. In order to qualify for the DVC AP discount, you have to show your DVC membership card. If you are just passing ROFR, you will still have several weeks of waiting before getting your DVC membership card. I wouldn't think you could get the AP discount this trip.

Yes, you can apply the value of MYW tickets towards the purchase of a DVC priced AP. The MYW tickets don't need to have the no-expire option on them to be used towards the upgrade. The no-expire option is only needed if you want to use the MYW tickets after 14 days (but not for upgrades).

Yes, you must do the upgrade within 14 days of first use.

No MYW ticket may be upgraded or modified in any way more than 14 days from date of first use, even if the No Expire Option has been purchased and added to the ticket.

Also thinking about an AP now. We already bought MYW 6 day tix from UT. I was planning to just keep them for a future trip. But, would it save money by converting them to an AP? Or not make a difference?
