AP discount update

I couldn't believe it!! Just called CRO on the faintest hope that I might could snag an AP discount for a last minute trip (plans for another trip we had planned the week before the 4th of July fell through and DH...what a guy...said "Since we already have the AP's why dont we just go to WDW again?"...music to my ears!!)

I actually thought they might laugh at me for even asking, but I was able to book all 7 nights (6/26 - 7/3) at an AP discount tonight!!! The very friendly and helpful CM (don't you just love it when you get a good one on the first call??) said they had availability at "most" of the value resorts at $59/night, all of the moderates at $74/night (standard) and most of the deluxes...I got the rates for AKL, WL, CR and Beach Club although she had others available!!

I was astounded...AP rates have been out forever and these dates are just 2 weeks away and it is the week before the 4th of July!!

I ended up deciding on 3 nights at the Carribean Beach and 4 in a tower room at the CR... both at excellent prices.

Last year I called the day AP rates came out and still couldn't get all my nights at the discounted rate!! Go figure...

I am one happy camper tonight!!

Now on to dining reservations!!

You really lucked out!! For your dining, I suggest Le Cellier in Canada!! We just returned last night from DW and ate there the last night, it was SO GOOD!! Have a great ime!!

I know what you mean. DF and I are leaving for our honeymoon in about a week, and we called Disney about a week ago to see if we could save money on our honeymoon reservation by getting an AP. We saved 900 DOLLARS on the hotel room, which was over 40%. We were so excited!!! I'm glad you were able to save money too! Have a great trip!!!

I don't think so....I believe several people overbooked when the rates came out, then changed their minds, freeing up rooms for later dates.

Congrats! That is great! It's always so nice to have a discount surprise. ONe of my favs is when you go to the department store to purchase something that you plan on paying full price for because you just like it...and then at the register is rings up ON SALE!! That's the best. The other day I went to buy some pants that I thought were 27.00 and instead they were 7.00!! That's the bEST!

Can you please tell me what the rates were for Beach Club, and WL? Also are Florida resident rates about the same as AP rates?

Cindy Z...The WL was $124 for a woods view and $139 for a courtyard view. I have $224 written down by the Beach Club, but did not write down what view that was for. In the past FL resident rates were similar to AP rates, and sometimes a few dollars cheaper,,, since we don't live in FL I did not ask about availability for those rates.

Jennandsg...best wishes and happy honeymoon....think of all the fun you can have spending that $900 you saved on the room!! (it will pay for an early anniversary trip before the AP's run out!!)

I am not sure why so many discounted rooms were available...but it's OK with me!! (even if there are empty rooms...smaller crowds won't bother me!!)
