AP Discount Question?

Can my DS buy an AP with the DVC discount when he's down there without us. He's 24 and still lives at home. Does this qualify him for the discount?

I would say yes, but not sure if you need to be there or not. Why not order the AP voucher for him before he goes, and then all he has to do is prove the address when he exchanges it. Not sure if they might also ask for the membership card too. AS long as the addresses match, I would think that would be all right. I would call and ask someone first though.

FWIW, I sent an email to MS via the member website with some questions about the AP discount. I got a response same day, which confirmed my understanding on a couple of issues. I printed the email and plan to have it with me when I walk up to the ticket counter.

Actually it might be a little more presentable in its original email form. I'd be happy to forward a copy of the message (which includes my query and DVC's response signed by a CM) to anyone interested. Just PM me your email address.

My particular question was related to upgrading from an AP (purchased pre-1/2/05) to a PAP at the discounted rate. The response from the CM stated that based upon the situation as I presented it, we should be able to upgrade our APs to PAPs at the DVC discount rate resulting in a free upgrade.
