AP discount before receipt of AP MagicBands?

We will be activating our AP's when we arrive in July. Will we get a discount card when we first activate them at the park? It is my understanding that we won't be able to order our AP MB's until after we arrive and active them so we won't have them until after we return home. How will we get our AP discount during this 1st trip? TIA!

You'll get an actual RFID-enabled Annual Pass card. You won't need it to get in if you're staying on-site, because it'll automatically be added to your existing MagicBands. But you'll use that card to get your discounts. You may even need it for the next trip, since some cast members don't understand what the discount card is yet, and will insist on seeing the AP card you shouldn't need.
