AP dining discount

I know the AP discount says it is for the holder and 3 guests. If I’m dining with 5 people, do they just charge one person full price and put it all on the same ticket? Or will we have to split our ticket?

Thankfully, we've always had waitstaff apply it to the entire check. Matter of fact, a couple times we split the check between a few families and the waiter applied it to everyone! Certainly not expected but a nice surprise.

We just tell them we have an AP discount before they bring the check and it's always applied to the entire thing. I assume if they were following the party size limit, they'd tell you then how they'll apply it.
