AP Codes are up!

Okay he is back!!!! He just called the WL and according to them they are NOT going to give any Passholder rates out this year. That they are BUSY enough without giving the discount:confused3 OMG he has put me on hold again!! This time he did not even say anything just YO HO YO HO music! OKay another tidbit...he is quoting me value season for part of my stay and HOLIDAY for the rest. Yet my original ressie that I made last month is all value :confused3 What is up with Disney? This whole thing is making me want to CANCEL completely and go somewhere else. They are getting too ridiculous!!!

Actually got through on the passholder website, and once again, AAA rates are less than AP rates for the campsites for my dates in October.

The AP rate sucks for my dates 12/19-12/29...
Date Rate per Night
Wed, Dec 19 $ 200.00
Thu, Dec 20 $ 240.00
Fri, Dec 21 $ 240.00
Sat, Dec 22 $ 240.00
Sun, Dec 23 $ 420.00
Mon, Dec 24 $ 420.00
Tue, Dec 25 $ 420.00
Wed, Dec 26 $ 420.00
Thu, Dec 27 $ 420.00
Fri, Dec 28 $ 420.00

Cm recommended I do not touch my current rack room rate at $270 a night...so much for waiting for a discount...I just might stay offsite

I just booked CR Garden View Garden Wing for nearly half off.:thumbsup2

Four nights rack rate: 1984.08
Four nights AP code: 1057.52
Savings: 926.56

Dates: Dec 11 - 15

Odd thing was they offered me a lower rate for a room with two queens than a room with a king bed. I didn't think you could reserve a king bed at a deluxe - aren't they request only? :confused3 I took the two queens because I'm going solo so the cheaper rate made sense.

Here's my bet:

Next year at this time, AP rates won't even exist. They're becoming less and less common and less and less valuable.

I checked on GF Garden view. Check in 11/25 for 2 nights (value season) 305 + tax. Total for 2 nights 686.24

After waiting for 20 minutes someone picked up...for the dates of 10/15 to 10/19 they had the AK for $990, CBR or POR for $105 per night and an executive suite at POLY but he did not tell me the price.

Since I cannot commit 100% to this vacation because of DH being transferred to a new location I did not book anything...if we can get away at the last minute I will have to go to the Swan.....

Good luck everyone!

I think they'll still be around, if Disney needs to use them to fill rooms. But I also think a big problem is the people who pre-book, hoping to get a code later to make the trip affordable. That gives Disney a false sense of occupancy, so there is no need to discount. There were a lot of posts last year when the December codes came out because there wasn't availability at WL. Most of the people posting had already booked WL and wanted to apply a code. Disney saw the rooms filled and didn't discount.

I never book a room I can't afford when I book it. I would rather upgrade to a nicer resort (or just take the savings) because a good discount comes up, than have to downgrade or cancel because I can't afford it. In the last year, I've paid rack rate for one trip, AP discount for two and AAA discount for two. I won't stop looking for discounts, but I won't book in the hopes that they appear either.

I can swear that if it keeps up like this I will not renew my passes. I have a 6 and 3 year old, the 6 year old is ecstatic about the Harry Potter stuff coming to Universal. And Universal has really gone out of it's way to make some kid friendly things at their parks. And I can get their annual passes cheaper than Disney's and get an years annual pass free when I buy the first year. Disney doesn't seem to realize how many people they are making angry, kind of like that whole Best Rate Program they came out with a few years ago. If they keep doing stuff like this people are going to stop going.

I got POP for 5 nites Nov. 13 -18 for 444.35 including tax. Saved a little over AAA but not much. It was $473.35 including tax. Oh well, enough for a t-shirt or two!

These AP codes really suck this year. Using the FEX code for Dec 8th-16th I was just quoted $530.96 for POP and $533.36 for AS Sports. Yesterday, (just in case AP discounts didn't come out) I cancelled the rack rate room I had booked last month at POP for $738.00 and rebooked using the ZQL Chase Visa code. I had to move to AS Sports, but was able to get my dates for $515.47 (and that included $439.85 for the room and $75.62 for a one day MYW ticket).

Since when is the VISA code better than an AP discount?:confused3 For $827.39 I can get 8 nights, a one day ticket (to use at a later date), and the DDP. or for $515.47 I can get 8 nights and a one day MYW ticket--compared to $533.36 for just the room using the AP.

Chase Visa= $54.98/night (including tax) for AS Sports
AP= $66.67/night (including tax) for AS Sports
Rack Rate= $92.25/night (including tax) for POP

I just got off the phone with reservations. Thanksgiving weekend was not available with a discount. I was given these dates as availability for the code FEX. Also, she said values started at $59 during these times.

Oct 28-Nov3

Nov 11-17

Dec 9-15

If they keep doing stuff like this people are going to stop going.

I wouldn't say that exactly, but people won't stay as long or necessarily on property. With a good AP rate, I would generally stay for 12 nights, which is 3 nights more than I'll stay without one.

I'll admit - I'm enticed to spend a few nights at Universal. They certainly seem to be doing alot to bring guests over there. Maybe it's worth checking out.

Got POR for our dates..saves us almost $400! Orginal reservation was for total of $1305.04 with the AP rate it is only $945.04.

Good Luck!!!:goodvibes

I got a courtyard view at WL for $240 plus tax! We're going October 19 through 23! Yippee! Keep calling if you don't get what you want right away...you might get lucky!

What's the difference between a courtyard view and standard view at WL? Our rack rate for WL in December for a standard room was $240 including tax.

I got through right at 7AM. Originally had rack rate at WL Nov 17 - Nov 25. Nothing available for those dates AP at WL. But YC and BC were available, standard room, over $500 less, so we moved to YC.

Mixed results, we like the WL better but the YC is a beautiful place too. Could not pass up the $500 less option and still be at a true deluxe. Getting 8 nights this late in the game at any place for Thanksgiving week is TOUGH!

I asked for those dates at moderates, no POR, POR FQ, only CSR and CBR. We could have resort hopped but my wife prefers to stay put.

What totally and completely ticks me off is that they do have rooms available but won't give the AP discount on them.

I can get a AAA discount but not an AP discount. WTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here's what I was quoted.:

Dec 15-25 - All with tax included:
  • WL Courtyard View: $2,880
  • Poly Garden View: $3,654
  • CR Garden Wing: $3,228

These don't seem much like discounts to me. Poly rack rate for value season is $329/night. With 12.5% tax that is $341.50. So the AP discount is about $24/night? Here's hoping for something better tomorow!
