AP/Best Rate Question???

I was wondering exactly how the best rate program works. I know that before all you had to do was purchase an AP voucher and you could qualify for the AP room discounts, however, if I understand correctly now you have to have actually activated your AP, correct?? Anyhow, I was considering purchasing an AP since we go a couple of times a year, I figured it would be worth it if I could get the resort discount but do I have to activate my AP before I can get the best rate? and if so can I activate it at a disney store or do I have to activate it at the world? In which case I would not be able to use it for a discount on our September trip.

You can't use best rate since you have to book more than 120 days out. Your trip is next month you would have to call for AP rates.

You don't have to activate. You can use the numbers off a voucher to access the Best Rate website. You do have to purchase and receive the voucher before you can look though, so no waiting until you see if you get the discount to purchase the AP. And rooms are limited, so there is no guarantee that you would get the discount.

You have to book at least 120 days in advance with Best Rate. It sounds like they will be posting rates through Feb 15 soon.
