AP Benefits Question

Can anyone give me an idea of some of the benefits to buying AP's? Aside from being to go when and where we please during our stays? Or is there some kind of booklet we get once we purchase?

Also, if we purchase them in advance at TDS, do they become active right awayor are they activated on first use?

When you buy your AP, you will get a ticket sleeve to keep your pass in, and it has a list of the benefits that AP holders receive. Some of them are discounts at certain restaurants, at the water parks, at the minature golf courses, and at DQ. You will also receive a quarterly newsletter that gives additional short term discounts, like at the on site hotels. These discounts at the hotels are usually some of the best discounts on rooms offered by Disney. Your pass will start the first day that you use it.

If you purcahse the AP at the ticket window it is good for a year. If you purchase through the internet, over the phone or form the Disney Store you will get a voucher that you present when you get to the park in exchange for the AP which will be good for one year.
