AP and room ressies

Hi all. My husband has an AP that expires on 12-01-08. Can we book an AP rate at a resort on 11-30-08 or 12-01-08 and stay for about a week with the AP rate or will that not work? I can't find any info about this. Please help. We don't plan on renewing the AP now that you can only book one room with one pass. That's a deal breaker for us. It was great to take the family. We had 9 people in 3 rooms last Dec. But I digress, I would love to know if Disney allows ressies to be booked in the manner I described. Thanks so much!
