We are currently booked at AOA Little Mermaid Room because my daughters (3 and 5 year old girls) love Ariel and every time they see pictures/video of AOA they go beg to stay there. With that said, there is free dining talk and I already know AOA LM will more than likely not be included. So, if the time comes do I switch to CBR OR CSR because it will save me about $500 or just stay at AoA because they are only this little once and right now is when they would love it. I keep looking at pictures and reviews and CBR AND CSR don't seem very exciting for children.

We haven't stayed at CSR, so can't comment on that. But ever since our first stay at CBR when our son was 5, he doesn't want to stay anywhere else. And we love CBR too, but we ask him every trip where he wants to stay. The main feature pool is great and has 2 slides. I think your girls would really enjoy the kids splash area too. CBR has such an laid back relaxed atmosphere which is such a treat from the craziness of the parks.

We feel CBR is kid friendly however, AoA is definitely in your face Disney all the time which is appealing to a lot of people. We just prefer a bit of a change of pace for our resort.

The values have the strongest kid-friendly theming. My 2.5 year old son loves staying in "the real" Radiator Springs. When he gets older (this stage won't last forever), I will happily move on up to Poly or Beach Club. But for now, the magic is at AoA.

Dansdad- We LOVE Port Orleans French Quarter for that reason it's very relaxing, small and quiet and a break from the parks BUT my 5 year old wants in your face Disney all the time lol.

That doesn't surprise me at all. :thumbsup2

Just make sure if you choose CBR because of the cool pirate splash area your 5yo fits the height requirement. Polynesian's just opened and I think parents are surprised their young children are too tall. Apparently these height requirements are checked and your kids are asked to leave.

My DS wanted to stay in a Pirate room pretty bad so I used my DVC pts to add on a few days in one, he still talks about it. So even tho it definitely wasn't the best use of pts I'm really glad I did it.

At 3 & 5 they still have time for plenty of WDW trips, in fact later on they will remember more. _I_ would save the $500 and switch. Larger rooms, more pools, LESS NOISE.

Fwiw, my kids 2,6,8,10 last visit loved the CBR pirate rooms (oldest 3 all girls) and loved the pools - only my 6 and 2 year old could go in splash area.

If you won't miss that $500, I'd stay at AoA. It is so cute. The Nemo splash pad, the Big Blue pool, walking around all the themed areas - so very cool. They are little once and you will have wonderful memories of their joy. Make sure you save room in your plans to really enjoy your time at that resort. My kids made us eat in a different section of the food court each day because they loved the theming even in there. AoA is a fully immersive Disney experience. We loved it there.

I have stayed at both resorts. CBR is very nice, but for small kids AoA is the better choice. My DD (now 8) always asks to go back to AoA. She has never once talked about CBR. Just a quick note on the kids splash area at CBR; the force of the water was so strong on the pirate ship that my DD was scared of it and would not go near it. Obviously other kids enjoy it, but depending on your child, the splash area at AoA may be better.

we are in the same boat! we have a little mermaid room booked (3 and 6 year old boys), but wondering if we should switch to CBR if free dining is offered. i can't decide!

Thanks for everyone's help! We decided to just stay at AoA because as the girls get bigger we feel like then we will need a bigger room and the girls will appreciate the resort now when they are little.
