AoA and beds

Okay, we are tempted by AoA but I have a concern about beds. My husband is 6'4" and my son is getting close to that. Neither of them can sleep in a double bed. Is there a room or suite at the AoA that would sleep me, DH, DS and DD (5 at that point) or should I move on to the moderates? (POFQ is also awfully intriguing...)

We have stayed at most of the value resorts, AOA LM too, and they all have full-sized beds. We only do it because we both get our own bed when staying there and it's usually only for a couple of days.
I think it would be really cramped for 2 adults but that's just my opinion.

I would also like to know if the other beds, besides the queen in the bedroom, in the AOA suites are comfortable for an adult to sleep in.

Well, you did say you were open to moderates, so I thought I would point out you don't necessarily have to upgrade to get a queen bed.

the master bed in all the suites at AoA is queen size, so should be fine for ou and your husband... the murphy bed and pullout are full sized but the murphy bed is way more comfy.. and its only 5 inches shorter than the queen... if he's not sharing he could always sleep on an angle... or just let his feet hang off for the purposes of a weeks vacay. Id put the 5yr old on the pullout couch. Its comfy as pullouts go (no bars in your back) but its still a pullout.

I too am having this problem. My wife, 2 early teen boys, and myself cannot do a value unless we get a suite and pay alot extra. Well we are already making changes from our previous trips such as driving this year instead of flying... 23hrs. from Maine uuuggghhh. School vac. times are killer airfare $$. We are not doing the dining plan and possibly not getting the park hopper/water park tickets...just going base. The thing the family does not want to change is staying on Disney property. We have stayed at POR, CSR, and CBR in the past. My problem is stay at a mod with queen beds or go against family wishes and stay at an offsite with 3 beds...at probably alot less cost. Vistana Villages looks awful tempting. Good luck with whatever you do. I wish I had a suggestion for you.

If you are driving down check-out the Swan (queen beds) rates. Sometimes they are as cheap as the mods even with their fees. Try AAA rate or others.
Swan/Dolphin are VERY nice with ALL the same Disney extras except the dining plan.

I have nothing against staying off site, and have done so many times. I'm not sure exactly when you are going, however there is no way I would do it if you are going over a major break time such as Spring Break or Thanksgiving. EMH is such a huge plus when the parks are packed. Plus, you have the fact that MK is frequently EMH every morning during major break times, which puts you behind all of those on site EMH guests if you are off site.

And if the parks start to close for capacity reasons, staying on site gets you in during later stages when off site people are kept out. If your school break is a major holiday, I wouldn't recommend staying off site. Just my 2 cents.

I need TWO queen beds. And am looking at the AoA or POFQ. One queen bed at a totally different resort does not meet any of my requirements.

Can anyone verify if there is a room or suite at the AoA with two queen beds?

I have a quick question about AoA beds too. Made reservations on the understanding (thanks to the Disney Moms Blog) that we could request a roll-away bed in the Nemo Suites as long as it didn't alter our total number in the reservation. Just called to request one and was denied. We have a DD14, DS12, DD9 and DD7 so the logistics of sharing beds is difficult due to their ages and genders. The little girls are happy to share a bed, but that isn't going to fly with the older 2. Anyone had this problem? Did they just change their policy?

Most resorts no longer have cots to give out. And if they do they don't let you reserve them ahead of time. Sorry but the moms led you astray on that.

You could have someone sleep on the queen bed and another person on a queen sized air mattress. Geeze. Nice way to talk to someone who is only trying to find a way to make aoa work for you.

Geesh that was a good suggestion. People are just throwing ideas out there for you. You could always call Disney if you want and official answer.
