Anywhere to download digital pictures?

Does anyone know if there is any place in WDW that you can down load your digital pictures and have them burned onto a CD to free up memory stick space? I'm worried about not having enough memory but don't want to spend the money on another memory stick if I don't have to. Any ideas?

this is from Deb's site (click on: OK, I Just Came Back with Almost 2,000 Digital Photos! Now what? )

"There are two locations to have your digital pictures transferred from memory cards/sticks to disk. The shop in the Kodak-sponsored Journey Into Imagination Pavilion features a full-service photographic lab. Transferring up to 120 images to a disk costs $11.99 plus tax, and $5.99 plus tax for up to 120 additional images. Prints are $.69 each. (Prices subject to change.) You may also drop off your digital media for transfer at The Darkroom on Hollywood Boulevard at Disney-MGM Studios. The cards are sent to the lab at the Imagination Pavilion for transfer, and must be in by 12:00 noon. They are returned at 5:00 pm. Transfer only takes two hours if you go directly to the lab in Imagination.

Uploading to a computer for e-mailing may be available at the business centers of the resorts featuring convention and meeting space, such as the Yacht and Beach Clubs, the Swan and Dolphin, the Grand Floridian, Coronado Springs, or the Contemporary. Call the resorts' business centers before making the trek to make sure they have computers available for Guest use. You will need to bring your own card reader. There will be a per-hour charge for use of these computers, which can be expensive. "

I would recommend buying a second card however. Anything could happen, including the card you're using getting ruined. It's always good to have a backup. Also, I read a thread recently where someone lost all their pictures because the card reader didn't work right. When they got home the CD they thought the pictures were transfered to was blank. I believe there are also some kiosks in the parks that are self serve, so hopefully there is a way to make sure your data was transferred properly before you erase your memory card.

will you have access/be bringing a laptop? if so, you can download them to the laptop and have plenty of space for more.

If you do this several times you could have bought the extra memory sticks. Just be sure that the images are truly on the CD before you delete them from your card or stick.

Not real crazy about bringing the laptop to WDW. I would invest in purchasing memory cards.

You can do this at Disney, as mentioned above, for $11.99, BUT, there is a Walgreens across from DTD that is within walking distance from there with a Kodak digital kiosk that will do the same thing for $3.99. I have been to one before (not in Florida, though) that even let me do it for free because I brought my own CD.

Memphisdad... did you use the Walgreens one in FL? I'm worried sick trying to figure out how I'm going to get by on 1 256? sd card. I usually take photos on the 'best' quality (why take them otherwise?), and get 120-130 photos. It's a new camera, so I'm not too sure. Also, I wonder how late they are open?

Thanks for any info.

They are open 24 hours! The pharmacy is only open until 10pm though. I have not used the digital photo kiosk at the one in Florida, because Walgreens didn't have them at the time, but they do now and I have used them in Memphis. It is do it yourself, and it only takes a few minutes. It's always $3.99, but sometimes they have an ad in their flyer for less. Like I mentioned before, if you bring your own blank CD, they may give you a deal, but that will be up to whoever is working at the time.

On the "best" quality, you will likely get approx. 40 photos on your card. One level lower, which is still very, very good, gets you approx 120, and the mid level (which is still good depending on what kind of camera you have, Sony Cybershot this level is very detailed and sharp) will hold about 250.

Thank You all for the information given on this thread! :)

I too, have been worrying about having enough space on the memory card. I'm relieved to know there are ways of transferring my pics should I need to. :)

Thanks again!

I went to Walgreens 2 times during the last trip. It is well worth the time to pay the 3.99!!!!!!

How long did you have to wait to copy to the cd? I may have to do this at night, after everyone else has gone back to the room. So, I don't want to be there forever! ;)

I only waited 20 minutes, but they had told me it would be ready in an hour. I walked around a little then checked back and it was ready. It probably depends how busy they are. I went during one of our afternoon breaks
