I finally made the big decision and booked my family (5 of us) at the BC for our Sept trip.
Is there anyting I need to know about this resort in advance?
Should I request a particular area of the resort? I just got the normal view nothing special.
Are my chances pretty good at getting a daybed or should I call about that? How close will the bus stop be?
How close is the food court?
How about Stormalong Bay, long walk from the no-view section? We'll be spending quite a bit of time swimming.
Thanks for your help, obviously this is our 1st time here.

There is no food court. There is a small marketplace store that has a section with limited food choices. There are a FEW tables outside in the corridor that heads off to BCV where you could eat but seating is very limited. There is no good counter service/food court options at the Epcot area resorts.

Bus stop isn't that far and the bus will most often be shared with YC; BC picks up after YC and the buses can be crowded. The DTD bus loop is the worst because it stops at all Epcot area resorts before getting to BC.

The walk to the pool isn't bad. Isn't great but isn't bad.

Half of the rooms here do not have balconies. Normal view will probably mean parking lot and/or rooftop.

I can't answer on the day bed. We are a party of 2 and we have had rooms here without a day bed.

BC has a lovely character breakfast at Cape May that we always book when we stay here.

Make sure you take all of your room keys to SAB. They will be needed to get wristbands; even for the children. Last Oct my husband took our granddaughter down there and didn't get her room key from her parents; he had to trek all the way back to their room to get it. :rotfl:

Oh, the counter service at the pool (Hurricane Hannah's) has a great kids' meal that comes in a sand pail. Kids love it.

Thanks for the info, especially about the room keys.

If there isn't a food court, where do we go to fill up the mugs?

We are already booked at Cape May for breakfast. This will be our 2nd time for this character meal. This is one of the things that swayed me to this resort.

Pakey answered many of your questions.

Standard view rooms are located in different areas of the resort, but as mentioned, will overlook the front parking lot or rooftops.

For your family of 5- is everyone over age 3? Families of 5 get priority for rooms with a daybed. If you have fewer than that, or if any of your traveling party is younger than 3, you need to request a daybed.

As stated above, only about 50% of rooms (in all view categories) have full balconies. If this is important to you, you should request a "full balcony please"

The Yacht and Beach Club FAQ has a lot of excellent info and pictures on the first page of the thread as well as an FAQ section, which covers information about views, room requests, daybeds and refill mugs.

You can get there by clicking on the link in my signature.

Here is the post about refill mugs:

Where can I purchase and refill a refillable mug?

Refillable Mugs may be purchased and filled at the Beach Club Marketplace (self-serve station), Beaches and Cream (CM assisted service, get into the ice cream takeout line), Hurricane Hanna's (self-serve station) and the Ale and Compass Lounge in the Yacht Club resort (coffee/tea self-service, juices and soda behind the bar).

Pixarmom provided pictures of the beverage dispensers at the Marketplace.

Hope this helps!
